This was my favorite jam at Coventry. I had a lot of fun at Coventry, despite the melancholy atmoshphere after the Phish performances. Thank god Trey recovered and we are blessed to have Phish as they are today! And now I get to share Phish with my kids (15 and 13). They love watching Phish Tuesday with us right now, and they will be going to the first show we can get tickets to after the pandemic.

Most of my phish shows were between 93-95....every one I saw was killer. Saw em again in 2000....wasn't the same band. Kinda gave up on em at that point. Still enjoyed the early records and some bootlegs tho. I remember when this show happened....was debating going, but didn't for whatever reason. Didn't hear the story about this gig til a few minutes ago....started listening with "Glide", which was a trainwreck. Have never heard Trey play that badly....led me to believe he was wasted out of his mind, but I think he was just emotional (yes, I know he was in the throes of opiate addiction at this point). But he seems to have cleared his fingers for this one. Playing's great. Yeah, it's kinda ramble jamble, but that's what these guys did during this era. Seeing comments about how bad this is is puzzling to me. Playing seems fine.

I know what your saying. I was referring to being high and performing. Coventry is an example of Trey losing his professional abilities because he was so blasted. He wasn’t handling his drugs that night. Once he started getting into hard drugs in the late 90s Trey was pretty much incapacitated and I functional in his professional and personal life within 5-6 years Jerry was able to consume massive quantities of everything and still show up strong musically for most of his 30 year career. Just a certain knack he had. Those boys grew the Grateful Dead from a tradition of performing live while taking heavy drugs. I’m not glorifying any of it though and I couldn’t be happier about Treys recovery. I love that guy and it’s a beautiful thing
