In the original game Golden Balls, there was a lovely older man who was so honest and wanted to split, this chick stole and you could see his heart break when they turned the balls round.. it was a really painful watch. She had no remorse

The best strategy for any type of split or steal game is to straight up tell the opponent that you are going to choose steal, then promise to split the prize with them privately after the gameshow. They will be forced into choosing split otherwise nobody gets anything, then just choose split yourself, It works surprisingly well.
