Uhh seeing as how he was actually paying them for the work they were doing and the dude was hardcore upselling him on stuff he didn't even want to do, "cause he was already there" (which is a sales tactic as old as time) they really don't. Sales people always give their friends "deals" because it makes them money but if they were good friends they wouldn't be selling them on more than what they wanted to do. Especially when it's someone who has a ton of other work to do on the place.

Suggestion: Add some dirt road sections in the infield, to make it possible to host Rallycross events in the future. In Sweden and Finland, grassroot rallycross (Folkrace) is a really big sport and a great way to introduce people into racing. No need to make it fancy, just some very small jumps and a couple of turns. For Folkrace, the track shall be so twisty that the speeds does not exceed 80 kmh (50mph), so that might be a good guide :)

Absolutely and what I like even better is it's not some big business corporation with top executives who will want to skim off all the profits and leave the business running on a shoespring. CJ Johnson I think he’s trying to do what is interesting to his crowd first (burnouts, drifting, etc) first and then move on to the circle track. Not saying there isn’t a huge crowd of his viewers who like circle track stuff but content wise it’s a much greater return of investment to do the skid pad and corners first and eventually move to the whole track. Who else thinks this place would be great for FD or a PROAM feeder series? Big bank, tight technical infield, back to the opposite bank!

I've operated heavy equipment for 15 years and you nailed that one on the head. These machines beat the hell out of you and yea it take alot of finesse. Alot of people say it's just sitting in a chair moving a stick but no its constant head movement and bouncing and surgical precision to get to grade and stay on grade.. I'm excited to see how it looks when it's done man.

My dad forced me to work construction in the summers between my high school years, on top of literally growing up on a construction yard, I've spent a lot of time on some big machines. The hardest for me was finnessing a front end loader to dump gravel/sand into the trucks without hitting the trailers. But I have sunk a bulldozer in a wet sand pit which was cool 😂

I had a track hoe operator that if you just gave him one grade shot for elevation in a basement, he would clean the whole thing out to within half an inch, he was even better when it came to final grading for slabs. I've also had a Gradall operator that you could shoot a trench bottom every 3 feet and he still was either 8 inches too high, or too low. It was like hiring Stevie Wonder to dig a trench.

Cleet, you need a real land surveyor to come in and set finish grade stakes for all the asphalt work. I’m a licensed land surveyor that works for the Deprtment of Transportation in cali and I deal with contractors who “survey”, but really they’re just grade setters. Their work is shotty at best. The automatic machine guidance does work well but they need real data to go off of to calibrate their GPS systems. Finish grade stakes every 75’ for the asphalt would suffice. Also depending on how much water you take on regarding your drainage system, make sure you have adequate piping for the drains. The drain pipes should be on a grade with atleast a half tenth of fall every 100’ or so. If not you could end up with a serious pond in the center field. All things to consider while construction is underway. Hell, if you do end up with a pond during the rain maybe the Tracker could make it through, just a thought 🤪 🤷🏻‍♂️ The track is coming along nicely, keep it up we are all enjoying it.

In 2015 I cleared a 120'x60' forested area by hand, pulled the stumps with a mini ex and a 1' wide bucket, then used it to dig the footings, and poured a 33'x55' 5"-6" slab. Ripped some of the trees I cleared with chainsaws and used them as the poles for the 32x48 polebarn. I started in June, got the roof on in November. Had to use a string level for the foundation and I got it within 1/2" the old fashioned way. Then last year I used a Terex extending boom forklift to stack shipping containers on concrete pilings formed in sonotubes, and built my house. Lived in the shop for the month the house was going together. What a metric shit on of work it is doing all of that with minimal equipment because I had to rent it all and the budget was tight. String level with the pilings and pour day was hectic as hell as the only people there who had done any concrete work were the guy driving the truck and myself. I operated heavy MHE/forklifts in the military, licensed on wheeled and tracked equipment so I could drive it all on airplanes like the C5 and C17. Grew up on a farm so I had an idea of how to go about all of he grading/construction. If I had just one guy with quality equipment the time needed would have been a couple weeks instead of several months for both projects. The good operators make it look soooooo easy. People just don't know what you guys do. I do.,..
