There is 1000000% romance in solitude and I think everyone needs to be alone at times to truly be happy in themselves

Write down everything you want in a partner, literally everything, from how tall, what they should look like, the kind of car, the way he/she should smell, how you want him to make you feel, his job, etc. Read it every night, spend time really getting lost in imaging you have him (or her)… he will show up when it’s the right time for you both. This WORKS as long as you are specific and open to love and you let yourself feel the feels. 🥰 I promise this works - it worked for me.

But then my mom passed away and I really had to figure out how to depend on myself and be happy by myself and then it just happened. It happened with someone I had known for years living in another country. We’re now going on 5 years together and I’m still super in love 😊 So keep doing what you’re doing and be happy by yourself and one day.. someone will walk into your life that adds to that. I used to be someone a bit bitter about Valentine's Day. The SAD (Single Awareness Day) type of person. 😂 I still participate of course by giving gifts to those I love since I don't think it should be strictly for just romance, but we all know that's what it is geared towards. I'm kind of in the same boat as you Amber, a hopeless romantic. It's kind of hard to find that, but I think knowing your self worth and celebrating yourself is also something wonderful and difficult to do. The solitude you speak of, I love that. I do solo trips myself, and I love that I can be comfortable with being alone without being lonely. Like you said, the loneliness can creep up now and then and it's not a bad thing. We're human, but I feel that being with someone shouldn't define someone's whole being. Single or not, we should still keep that in mind as well. I'll be going to the gym after work today and treat myself to a good shower and cozy night in with my pup pups. Sounds like a great Valentine's Day to me. ☺
