an idea to improve that filter is adding filter mediums ( sponge, bio rings, lava rock, sponge rock ) to that container, that's a lot of space

This huys a rocket scientist first drill big hole while holding jar watch it spin out of your hand .second cut jar with hacksaw blade no handle required. Screw this touch work off to pet shop.

It's for bare bottom aquariums it cleans poop and acts as bio filter for bacteria
