Somebody please explain "spontaneous combustion of grass clippings " Is this from the sun? A compost pile heating up?

Because wet grass insulates heat so if it’s piled up it heats up from the inside and starts to evaporate/smoke which eventually would cause it to Start on fire

Its from bacteria. When billions of bacteria break down organic material they give off heat. Life creates heat. Its like a gym full of people working out. Hot and sweaty.

What does grass clippings like how? Does that have anything at all due with a fire?

The microbes that break down the clippings start reproducing so fast it’s a chemical reaction

Yeah guys, take your time over there. Keep yapping on your radio. Finish casually drinking your latte and eating your doughnut before exiting your vehicle. It's only a FIRE! Seconds count! But, you know, keep on moving at a snails pace there. The people called you about the fire. They did their job. Now DO YOUR JOB! Every second counts. Keep in mind, when you arrived, the fire was still only against the wall, and only halfway up. And you should have known (common sense) that the roof was about to go up in flames while you casually swaggered over to it. You should be RUNNING to put out that fire, knowing it was about to all go up if flames after a few more seconds, just like it did. Every single second you waited probably cost that homeowner another $1,000 worth of damage to their home, until it was too late. Now their entire house is destroyed. You slow reaction time makes me so angry. I've seen this so many times with fire fighter videos. They take their sweet time pulling up and getting out of their trucks, then slowly gear up, like their going on a long hiking trip to a tailgate party. It's almost like they are specifically trained to drag their @sses as punishment to those affected by fire. Personally, I think fire fighters should be able to be sued for negligence and malpractice just like doctors can be. They are allowed to block traffic for minutes on end, run thru red lights, yet when they get there they drag their butts. As if they are waiting for the home to be consumed in flames just so they can say "whoops, can't go in now!"

Those houses are worth close to a million dollars if not more. Whoever lived there was unaffected by the fire. They have insurance and a fat checking account. Nothing was lost here.

Isn't it funny how it always looks like they're not doing anything, when you have no comprehension of fire fighting? Please let them do their jobs.

@@ForestNinjaZero Oh, sorry. Maybe you are right. Maybe I'm just thinking they are there to PUT OF THE F*CKING FIRE! instead of acting like they are begrudgingly watering someone's lawn. Don't tell me what I can clearly see with my eyes. And its not just this video. I've seen the same thing in many others like it. It appears to be a cultural thing within the firefighter community. A fire like this is easily manageable with quick action before it explodes into total home destruction. And they of all people should know this. But it does not seem to matter to them. They were acting like this was just some small little bush fire, rather than a tinder box that was about to go up if they did not act quickly withing the first 20 seconds of arrival. This is very similar to a code blue in a hospital where people drop what they are doing and RUN to the act with immediacy. In this situation, the guy should have said screw the mask, screw buttoning up his fire suit. Just pull the hose and get freaking water on that wall before it all went up like match sticks. To the homeowner: I'm so sorry your local fire station sucks so hard. But they are not the only ones. There appears to be a systemic issue with these guys, acting like lazy ballerina's in a situation that warrants heroic efforts to save property. It appears "running" is not among their skills inventory.

Yup. I did my 360. Yawn. Stretch. I suppose we'll have to maybe put this thing out I guess. Lemme go ahead and walk all the way back to where is started where I first saw the raging fire. We'll see if maybe we can get a hose on this thing at some point. Oops, look at that, it's quittin' time. Guess we'll have to get another crew out here to sweep up the ashes after this thing burns to the ground. I gotta get home and watch the ballgame. Priorities, ya know?
