This was the Intermediate-Advanced group. I've been cleared to run in the advanced or fastest group, but it was sold out by the time I purchase the track day. This one makes for an entertaining video with the passes but I would've have liked more open track to practice and get faster.

Thanks for subscribing. I don't think I ever mentioned it, but my first bike did have some rear shock faults, something about the adaptations. I rode the wheels off it and never felt it misbehave. Very few owners have had an issue with removing the key and the bike staying on, the ignition module gets stuck but it's an easy fix. I can easily recommend this bike with the best of them, mechanically it is very reliable.

Hey Nic, I have yet to come back home, it'll be a few more months. Good news is that I'm in Germany, so I might be able to get those body fairings at a better price. Can't wait!

If I hadn't forgotten to do a key swap on the top box from the old bike, I may have ran it for a session to mess with people. 😅

Unfortunately the bike gets wobbly at 160+ kph with the topcase and anything else but 0 wind blowing.

@@ThaSideWeed Hmm, I did notice that mine XR gets really wobbly at around 130 mph (no top or side cases). I thought I was doing something wrong.

@@EEEBA1 No. Mine does the same exactly at that speed, and I have Hyperpro springs and their steering damper, + the front is lowered 10mm. Track or highway doesn't matter. It's better with the mods, but not eliminated. Still wobbles but very slightly at 130 mph. With the big BMW topcase, it wobbles at 100-ish, didn't go past that with the topcase on. Only thing I can think about is wheel balancing, which I'll ask the dealer to do very soon along with resetting absolutely everything, or something suspension related, point at which I'm probably going to just get the new one, since this ain't my only usability issue.

@@ThaSideWeed You said you'll get a new one? Bike? If yes which model? I love my XR (mine is the 2018 lowered version) my main complaint is the wobble. I just got new tires and balanced my wheels perfectly and hopefully I will test it this weekend.

Thanks Nic. Lots of parking lot practice, oh yeah, also at the tail of the dragon. 😄 My only racing background is a ton of Gran Turismo back in my early 20s. While just a game/simulator, that experience helps me find a quick line around racetracks much quicker.

Hey Will, got them from someone on the S1000XR Facebook group. I ended up trading them back for the stock piece after mine got damaged on the recent deer incident.

Just a little. Good thing about being high and having handlebars, our bars would never touch, haha

The aftermarket pegs helped for sure, I could feel I was getting more lean angle, but I would like them higher so I can lean further without having to work too hard with my body position. It was 100 degrees that day, so I was trying to conserve all the energy I could.

@@CubanRider what suspension settings are you using? any preload? (love the video)

@@rickhill3550 thanks. The suspension was set to dynamic and + luggage to stiffen up the rear a little. If set for two passengers I get a bit more ground clearance but the bike becomes too stiff and jumpy.

Aw man, I won't be back in the area by then, otherwise I would've signed up for sure. The camera it's on a sticky mount on a flatter portion of the helmet, using a couple of adapters to get the angles right. Are you local to Austin?
