As an ex-diamond-python owner I can tell you a python that size wasn't even trying to choke with it's full force, I remember my python constricted around my arm cut the circulation of and made my arm go dead, it felt like my arm was in a vice.

It's a cute idea but not exactly a fair comparison. Fedor is a world class martial artist and also a heavy weight. To bring on the equivalent herpetile one would have to bring on a world class heavy weight. This would mean engaging a constrictor of least 18 feet long or more, possibly an Anaconda which is heavier than a Python. Also, Fedor is highly motivated here but the Python is not so motivated so the force may not indicate the greatest force.

What can I say....hssssssss! Technically, these snakes are built more for constricting than choking. I.e,. they typically squeeze around the body of the pray e.g. a bird or rodent, and as the prey breathes out they close a little tighter with each breath, so it takes a little while depending upon size of each, etc. Either way, both Fedor and the snake are petty darn awesome!

Oh and just a second thought, if you read even closer. " LIVE" snake. Lets think about the chances of someone catching a 30 foot snake in the middle of the bush of the amazon. All of the 17foot or so anacondas being caught are near human populated areas and not deep within the amazon. Prey is much smaller near populated areas, and so would be the snakes.

First of all, technically correct choking doesn't need raw power. All you need is an average squeeze where it matters. Secondly, Fedor wasn't choking but crushing. The squeeze he did is not meant to choke out but crush the face and you do that if you can't get under the chin. If you can, your hands are around the neck, not crushing the fucking head. Lastly, of course strong man has more power than a snake but again to choke someone out you don't need a great strength. All you need is a technique.

it's not exactly the way to measure chocking force 1) they've taken a mrtial artist who has much stronger and triand chocking abilities and than average people. 2) they just put the python on a dummy with a dead mouse tied up to it.

Why use a small Burmese python, why not a big one, or a Anaconda or a Reticulated python, When they go into a full on feeding frenzy, they can break ribs with there power.

The snake only needs to choke the force that is necessary to bring down a mouse. If you gave it anything more, it would have given even more force. Fedor maybe really strong, but a python of his size and weight could crush a motorcycle. And remember that the python only continues squeezing after the prey takes a breath.
