Living in the UK I made the effort to go to the so called warm up match with the select eleven in what was very unfriendly weather even when the sun came out witnessed youngsters with one or two experienced players having to acclimatise themselves to weather and pitch condition in a short space of time and then produce against an opposition that know the conditions having played in several county matches before the series started. Note how many matches it took Holder to make a century for Worcester and the slow progress of Jayden Seales to be on the top of the wicket taking tree in county cricket.....Look back in the good old days where most of our players then played county cricket and proved to be world beaters...Quite simply the infrastructure and lack of mental strength to name but a few things is what that stopping the Windies from progressing to the level required...The players have as much skill and ability as any opposition to me scales are not balanced equally.

West indies is no longer a test playing nation it's now a t20 playing nation.

The lack of intent to score runs and just trying to survive is our downfall. Alot of these batsmen wasn't playing their natural game west indies stuck in the past trying to play old fashion test cricket.

When fazeer mentioned the longevity of batting issues since 2000 just hit hard 😶

The senior players do not make themselves available to play test cricket for west indies

The cricket result is a great reflection of our progress as a region and as individual island. We have not developed our cricket infrastructure in such a way that our players can be properly developed and prepared for international competition. Of course we are not helped a cricket board that was led by Dave Cameron who sold out the ICC to India England and Australia to administer the game as they see fit. How can our first class players properly develop their game with 5 first class matches per year. It won’t happen. As we continue to depend on England etc to develop our players. The planning and vision of the WI cricket board is lacking and as such, it reflects in our play/ results.

Focus on T20 and 50overs. In the TEST they can’t apply themselves.

I think the WI will do better in the series going forward, apart from many of the players being inexperienced in first-class cricket, they are not well practiced in English conditions.

The west indies is a defensive team. The captain is not an example. He is only diffending. A captain should not open the inning because when his team is in trouble, he can't help. West indies need to learn how to go on the offensive. The batting coach needs to teach them how to be offensive players.

After Lara and shiv West indies never got a test batsman with consistently scoring runs the all average under 40 check all good teams The has batsmen who average over 50 they did not make much runs in Australia and was lucky for shamar Joseph magnificent spell off bowling he might never bowl a spell like that again

West needs better batsmen who can atleast bat for one day

Folks don’t panic WI cricket is not dead nor is Test Cricket dead in my cricket knowledge the managers of this game are been foolish and trying to have 3 different teams for the 3 versions of the game and we simply don’t have the quality of players to do this let me present my test team and ask the question do you think we would have been bowled out so cheaply 1 KB 2 B King 3 S Hope 4 Alick A 5 Hetty 6 N Pooran 7 J Holder 8 A Joseph 9 J Seals 10 Motie 11 S Joseph now get the boys playing test cricket and stop this nonsense of trying to have 3 teams for the most part then with the 11 I named you can add other players and groom them with the senior players many countries have players who play all formats , in addition get a foreign coach who have more freedom to manage the team I am not hard on this one but WI need to have some of their big guns playing test cricket they are good enough

I am not going to fall for that cricket is dying in carribbean BS. Cricket is alive and well in west indies but there is an issue in how WICB polish young talents and choosing correct player for format that suits him. West Indies test bowling is good and hopefully shamar Joseph comes back to the form. Motie has been the best player from West Indies for me. I just have a issues with the likes of da silva, Braithwaite and holder who are supposed to be most experienced players in test, they were playing like bunch of amateurs. Athanaze and kirk hasn't learned anything on how to bat in test match. Also why there is no harsh critisism and scrutiny of the West Indies performance from west indians. I believe it is because of this that the players don't even care for repercussions or even ruining the reputation of west indies emblem.

Following up on my post Hope and or Pooran can wicketkeep , you can later sub Da Silva in as performance allows the other younger players can come in between the experience batter so that they are not coming to bat at 30 for 2 or 3 Hope needs another shot at test cricket so does Hetty get Pooran and King playing test cricket encourage Rutherford to groom himself for test cricket what are we doing imagine what King or Pooran can do if we get good starts and Pooran is coming to bat with WI 250 plus for 3 or 4 it was criminal to have the front 5 of West Indies with 4 been so raw with Holder at 6 who is clearly not a # 6 in this batting line up he can bat at 6 if you have a solid front 5 but folks I am sorry to say Holder is not good enough for 6 our bowling looks very promising and can get 20 wickets but our batting gives our bowlers no time to rest and last but no least when last have we seen a WI batter in test cricket beat a bowler of his line and length think what Pooran can do if we can get the best players playing Test Cricket

West Indies cricket should scrap,and every Island or Country should have their own team.The reason is West Indies cricket is not a Country.When a guy playing for his Island or Country he would play to the best of his ability
