So, the key difference between "headache" and "migraine" is that the latter can be absolutely debilitating; treatment is available (much stronger than just OTC ibuprofen) but may take days to work, if at all. A "back sprain" depends on the patient/player from mild to severe symptoms. Sometimes treatment works. But without more information on the injuries, it's really hard to predict status for readiness to play. The team seems pretty hush-hush on details!

The Leafs core four guys have been held up as some great group of players. In reality, they have been totally overvalued. Being good in the regular season shouldn’t be the benchmark for how good a player is. Being good in the playoffs is the real benchmark. By that standard, the Core Four are being drastically overpaid!

The whole Toronto Maple Leafs press conference was a joke! I would recommend anybody, who wants to know the reason, why this organization can't get anywhere, to watch and listen this press conference. The answers are right there. No credibility, no accountability, no standards.

He needs to be FIRED. He won cups, gold, etc. He is incompetent as an NHL president.

Not a whole lot of confidence with Shannahan at the helm. I don’t think he should be answering player related questions unless he wants to call himself GM… which let’s be real, he’s definitely the true GM. Dubas had to run trades by him and I’m sure Treliving might be doing some of the same. I’d love to see some legitimate big moves this summer but hopefully not one like the Huberdeau/Tkatchuk debacle. I do feel like some of that was bad luck for Calgary how Huberdeau came in the way he did… but here comes a second crack at getting a big trade right. I’d like to see marner moved as much as the next guy, this last season he seemed to be very much so diss engaged from the team…and perhaps the game. That being said, he’s still a hell of a talent…best he getting back multiple 1sts with prospects for him that you can flip OR multiple high end players (2 top d or 1 top d and top 6 forward…) JT I’m disappointed but completely understand potentially buying him out and changing leadership in the room.

I just wish Matthews, Marner, Willy and JT would show more emotion..you can kinda tell how disappointed Mo is and how bad he wants it. Look at Brady Tkachuk in Ottawa..of the ice, comes out and point blank says he's sick and tired of losing..on the ice, backs that statement up by leaving it all on the ice and plays with his heart on his sleeve while leading by example. Hitting, fighting, scoring goals..that type of attitude is what the Leafs need throughout the entire organization, from top to bottom. Maybe then, they will find playoff success.

he LEafs do not have to get VALUE back for Marner in a trade .The VALUE is the Cap space that they gain ( a couple of " cant miss" defence prospects and a 1st round pick would do it ) .As long as we waives and you get his cap hit off the books that is the name of the game .The UFA pool this summer is full of guys that have been absolute BEASTS in the playoffs recently ( Montour ,Marchesault,Stamkos ,Reinhart and Toffoli just to name a few ) One or more of these guys on the Leafs could carry them over the playoff hump

I've heard people say if Rod Brindamour leaves Carolina the Leafs should go after him..with all due respect to him, and i like him, seems like a great guy and a good coach, but what has he won as a head coach? A round or 2, but quite honestly, i don't think hes the guy for the Job. Personally, the top two coaches i would be considering if i was the Leafs management..Craig Berube first and if that don't work out.. Gerard Gallant as a fall back option. I also like coach Q.. always liked him..but idk what his status is or if he would be a good fit....one hell of a coach though and i dont care what people think about him from that incident in Chicago..thats completely irrelevant when it comes to the experience and ability he has as a head coach. Maybe its time to piss people off or atleast make a few unpopular decisions if they want to win.

You notice how the statement was only to win. Not win the cup. Just to win. You take a look at the Rangers, or Carolina, or Dalls, or Vancouver, right now - we are nowhere even close to competing night after night with teams that have a commitment to winning and winning the cup. We want to just win. So, we don't have to realize that we have no chance at the cup whatsoever.

Toronto's Traded away and missed on several 1st round picks in the last few years... REALLY hurts their lineup. Lilij was a 1st rounder and if they saw 1st round skill/potentual in him, he needs to be at least a regular in the lineup, if not soon to be part of the new core. What is Quenneville‘ crime that disqualifies him as an excellent candidate to be reinstated as a coach back in the NHL? I disagree with 99% of my fellow Leafs fans when they want to blow up the core! The one consistent since 1967 is that the Leafs (unlike other teams) lose patience quickly with their players and trade them away. Other teams have players who have played their entire careers or 15+ years with their team. Who on Toronto has 15+ years with the Leafs? It’s a short list. The Leafs have not been blown out in any series since 2017. They have been close. Key issues: 1) Keep Mitch Marner. He has value. Find it. 9.0 million is my ceiling with him next year. If he wants more - cut him loose. Leafs fans want the core blown up. I don’t. Over the years Leafs fans have rode many of their players out of town. “They suck and will never win a cup” they said. AND THEN THEY WIN THE CUP! ELSEWHERE. Larry Murphy, Nazem Kadri, Lanny McDonald, Tyler Bozak and notably Phil Kessell. Am I missing anyone? Marner has value on this team at the proper price. PRICE is the key issue. 2) Keep John Tavares. He has value. 5.0 million / 2 year deal is my ceiling. If he wants more - cut him loose. There is an 8-million-dollar savings IF they both stay and even more if they leave. 3) Keep Simon Benoit & Jake McCabe. These guys battle and are warriors. They dove in front of many pucks these playoffs. 4) The Leafs need a goalie. Woll IMO plays like a starter but is better as a backup due to his injuries. 5) They need DRAFT PICKS. For a while they drafted well but starting in 2016 their drafts have sucked. Drafting Matthews in 2016 was easy. But with the 31st pick they selected Korschkov. WTF. The second they made it I knew it was a horrible pick. They just wasted it. They selected Rodion Amirov who was another reach (RIP). He was no where near the best pick at 15. They got Knies at 57. Thumbs up. But their selections overall have sucked lately and Dubas traded away most of their picks! 6) Resign Max Domi on a 2 year 3million deal. 7) Make Auston Matthews or Morgan Reilly the Captain. 8)

What MLSE brass, along with Pelley need to understand is that the Maple Leaf brand will sell whethey they're good or bad! We as fans expect this Toronto group whether it stays as it is, or even if a core 4 piece is moved, that the remaining pieces of what this group has been built on, gets into the playoffs. But we're bored of that if this is "the bar" of what is expected. If their idea was to wait for the teams they can't beat now to age out to where they have easier runs, was their idea. Well, the Boston's out there have a decent young group already stepping in to take over for the Bergerons and Marchand types. So that concept may never pan out the way they hoped. So rather than wait for those opportunities, force it! This is NOT a playoff team. It's shown that a few years ago already. So before the whole nucleus of this team either ages out or simply gets tired of the scrutiny for being pathetic in the playoffs, seize this moment! ANY smart fan knew in 2018 that JT was the wrong move because of his placid mentality and that wasn't the position that needed filling. Dubas overspent, even if there WAS a cap rise it was an overspend on the wrong position when you had Kadri at 4.5. We've been watching the consequences since. Silly fans have been 'beleafing' year after year after year, and the media is what pumps up those beleafs. MLSE makes MORE money EVERY year despite NO PROGRESS towards a cup. let that sink in. FK MLSE. They are traitors. Shanahan should have been fired after the MTL series if not the COL series and one of the core should have been dealt for a replacement for Reilly. Shocking to believe Shanahan played the way he did and the Leafs play they way they play in the playoffs. Rookie NHL GM(Dubas), rookie NHL coach(Keefe), all hired by an inexperienced NHL team president to win a championship. Makes sense. First misstep, hired coach(Babcock) before GM! Typical top executive; zero results, keep your job and be rewarded handsomely. Perhaps the right coach can get some accountability injected into the team (missing until 3 months ago, and in game 1&4 of the playoffs), some effective structure, and maybe some north-south hockey. Perimeter play and perimeter leadership needs to go.
