The whole point of being a "one timer" competition was to see some actually wicked slap shots. Got basically none, doubt I'll watch again.

Wanted to see slapshots? They had an event for hardest slapshots for those wicked ones you want, but not sure they did or are doing it this year

I mean one timer doesn't necessarily mean slapshot, they have hardest shot competition for those. accuracy requires the power to get dialed back just a little bit. an 80mph one-timer bar and in is infinitely cooler than a 105mph rocket that sails past the net a mile wide

Going first puts you at a massive disadvantage. All the other competitors that come after you know exactly what they need to do.

After seeing the silly spectacle that was the NHL skills competition last year, I thought how cool it would be to see a one timer accuracy competition, although I envisioned it with a goaltender. There's definitely room for improvement to make it more exciting. I'll be expecting a check from Gary any day now, lol. Shame it couldn't happen this year, but how cool would it have been to see Ovi and Pasta go head to head ripping one timers???

There should be a power component in this as well. Even if just as a tiebreaker. Make these guys actually bring it somewhat.

I 100% agree. After the lame skills competition last year, I thought it would be so cool to see a one timer competition with Ovi and Pasta blasting away. Pasta has gotten pretty damn good at setting up in "Ovi's office" as I like to say

Instead of shooting at empty nets why not put the goalies in there? Shooter with the most goals and goalie with the most saves win. It’ll be much more fun to watch.

Counterfactuals are fun! If Ovie had been selected and turned up he wouldn't have scored 0. He's only found the net 9 times in 44 games so far this season. At least my fantasy world has some basis in reality.

The One Timers was ok, probably the weakest of the skills competition. My impression was it would be more of a slapshot one timer than wrist/snapshot. Overall, as a former player, I think the events were head and shoulders better than the Tampa Circus! KUDOS NHL for coming back to hockey!!!

The medical report for Connor Bedard is he is too apt to clench his jaw and might do harm to his recovery. I don't know about Sidney Crosby.
