@@jet4653 hmmm I wouldn't say I have a second favorite. It's the Panthers all the way, one of the best memories I have is being real young and waiting at the tunnel for the pre skate warm up and getting a fist bump from Bure and Worrell. Bure had some monster seasons with the Cats and Worrell wasn't an amazing player but he was an enforcer and looked like me so I was super excited. But once the Cats lose or if they aren't looking like they'll be a contender , I root for specific players. Like a few days ago we played the Caps and Ovi scored his bread and butter one timer from the left hash and I'm really rooting for him to beat Gretzky's record so me and my Dad were like "ahhh at least it's Ovi who scored. We'll give him a pass." Lol. I'm really loving the Canucks right now. I would really like a Canadian team to win the cup if not the Panthers. My rival teams are definitely VGK, Lightning, and Boston. I was really happy for Eichel and Marshessault when they won the cup though. Same with when Ovi got his and MacKinnon got his. My favorite team when the Panthers weren't doing so hot was the Blackhawks when they went on their dynasty run. Kane was my favorite player to watch when I got older. And now in my 30s watching the game compared to when I was a kid is really exciting. These young guns are ridiculously talented and skilled. MC David and Draistl, Matthews and Marner, MacKinnon and Rantanen with Makar, the Hughes brothers Quinn, Jack, and Luke, I was real hype when Kane joined the Red Wings to be with Debrincat. Kaprizov from the wild, Bedard is having a great rookie season, Aho from the Hurricanes, I guess I just really love hockey though I'm not liking the refs the past couple years and I think that has to do with betting becoming really big now. All we see is FanDuel and DraftKing commercials.

It's not just unlucky at this point. They're legitimately playing horrible. Like how the hell was Verheaghe THAT wide open on the first goal? 27 shots against in the second period? Franchise record. Yes Bobrovsky played out of his mind, but this team's problems go well beyond the puck not going in the other team's net and the puck just going into their net. Also this may have been one of the worst officiated games I've ever seen, not that it would have mattered.

And yes I know the first goal was on the powerplay. Still no excuse for Verheaghe to be that wide open.

It’s because when a team doesn’t have faith in their goaltending, they give up. Georgie isn’t it, no one wants to defend if he lets soft ones in and give up horrible rebounds

Also, on Georgiev. He's been absolutely hung out to dry. The whole point of having multiple goalies is that you don't start your main guy 60+ times in a season to the point where you burn him out and cause him to turn into a pumpkin. I understand that the Avs don't have another goalie they're confident in, but Bednar needs to give Annunen more of a chance than he has, and yes, the Avs need to trade for a legitimate backup goalie so that maybe, just maybe, Georgiev appears in a more reasonable 50-55 this season. Oh wait he's already appeared in 43 while the team as a whole has only played 53. He's going to end up over 60 again, isn't he?

@@rmst2022 I think Francouz is injured?! He would have been able to limit Georgiev having to make so many starts. Also I've felt all year Avs major achilles heel is their defense. They often leak goals, it's just that before the All-Star break they were out-scoring their opponents (mostly) and banking wins. They've come back off the All Star break adrift and asleep at the wheel. Mackinnon was on the hot streak of his life, not sure if he's registered a point since they returned (?), momentum has somehow shifted. Need to wake the f*** up!
