More power, even louder! 370Z Nismo Dyno Tuned, HFCs, ECU App & more! VLOG

It was time to give our Nissan 370Z Nismo more power. So, we took the car back to Abbey Motorsport to be tuned. Not only did they tune it, they installed new HKS intake filters for better air flow into the engine and Cobra High Flow Catalytic Converters (HFCs) for better flow out of the engine. Plus, we now have the Ecutek Connect adapter and app to manage the engine maps! More power, more noise, more control!

Yeah. It's cool that you can do it from the app, but much more practical from the steering wheel. Very clever using the rev counter to indicate the map you're about to select. Love it!

Thanks! Not bad for a mobile phone and a go pro huh?! Some of it wasn't as good as normal. Had some technical difficulties but normal service should resume shortly 😁

Hi, quick question, how have the HFC's been with the pop and bang map. I read before that for pop and bang your car needs decats.

Any discussions / data from Abbey or any idea yourself what the power gains would be with just drop in air filters and a remap (without the HFCs)?

I personally don't know, but you could email Abbey. I also had the short tails back box/muffler delete so exhaust flow was already increased.

This was a while ago, I can't actually remember. Since then the prices also may have changed so best to check with Abbey Motorsport. I'm sure you'll love it if you're having the same upgrades as me 😁

Power gains are a function of the drop-in intake filters, High Flow Cats, back-box delete AND the tune. The tune you get with stock intakes and stock exhaust is different to when you have these performance parts fitted. I currently have Stillen Gen 3 cold air intakes and a milltek cat back exhaust with high flow cats set up on my 2016 Nismo, (doesn't sound quite as good as yours though!) So hopefully I can get a little bit extra juice out of her! Once all this lockdown is over I'll get myself down there as it isn't to far from where I'm based! Thanks again and keep the videos coming! it's been great watching them when unable to get out!

@@JollyRodgerMagic awesome! That's a perfect setup. They may be able to get just a bit more gain on yours given the intakes. Mine sounds like that due to the resonated back box delete... But trust me, you are probably better off as mine is LOUD! Drop them an email, let them know you saw the video and see what deal they'll do for you 👍

Do you lose cruise control with the maps being controlled via the cruise selector?

Great question! No, you keep cruise control and the speed limiter. All that ECUTek does is add functions to the cancel button & toggle when cruise / speed-limiter are not activated. While in cruise/speed-limited mode the button & toggle do everything you expect. When not in cruise/speed-limited mode the cancel button acts as switching to map-selection mode which makes the toggle the way to change maps. When traction is off, the toggle acts as the traction adjustment. You can see more on all of this here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/g69zeMl8v8ucdZs.html Also, the way Abbey Motorsport set the maps up is that in map 1 everything is pretty much stock (except you have more power and the throttle remap). Map 2 adds Adjustable Traction (If you've bought that module)... Map 3 adds pops n bangs (if you've bought that module) and takes away S-Mode and cruise-control because it borrows the s-mode part of the map to provide Pops n Bangs and you don't want pops n bangs when you're in cruise - kinda doesn't like it anyway)... Map 4 is like map 1 but de-tuned for low-octane fuel (in case of an emergency), and acts as a valet map with a rev and speed limit imposed.

Hello! Fellow Nismo 370Z owner here! Noticed the black Z badges you have, I would like the same. Are those you have good quality? Where did you get them from? Thanks!

The Z badges on the front and rear are actually a chrome finish. In the video, the reflections may have made it look black. I'm not sure where they came from as they were a gift from a while back. Let us know if you find any good ones though.

Well, how can anyone like heavy metal and dislike hip-hop or visa verse... Because different people like different things. Neither is right or wrong, just people have different preferences 😉 And, it's less and less of a niche preference... I drove a 992 GTS the other day and even that had it.

That's on my list 😃 I'll need to do some research though, as I am also looking at cold air intakes so need to see what combination of oil cooler and cold-air will fit behind the V2 Nismo Bumper. I do plan to do track-days in the car so an Oil cooler is a must!

@@sportzntouring I'm sure there are options so you can run the long tube cold air intakes & the cooler, there is room under that nose cone for sure ;)
