The unintended consequences of this video really irritate me. I get that you are trying to promote your buddies charter business, and I respect the hustle of chasing the dollar, but you just destroyed the Sequim shrimp fishery overnight with this. As a Sequim local, never in my life have I seen so many out of town people launching boats at John Wayne after this video came out. Everyone at the dock was citing this video as a reason for showing up. It also caused WDFW to have 3 officers there every single day last week for the most recent shrimp opener, and I am sure they will be there again next opener now, along with every single out of town joker and their mother again. Not only does this hurt the fishery, but now the bio mass will be significantly reduced because you convinced everyone to come up here for shrimping. So now during the offseason, WDFW will take this into account and most likely reduce our limit from 80 shrimp a day to 60 or 40 next year. All because you had to chase a few youtube clicks. We already lost our discovery bay shrimp district to a 2 day season with a 4 hour time limit, and now our local hole will become the next hood canal or area 9. just one day a year with 4 hours. So while the monetary gain from a few youtube clicks and a full charter boat for this season will be great for you and your crew, it wont be for next year when you lost ability to take clients out for a full season next year. Even the WDWF officers seem annoyed at this video, and that they had to spend all day here at John Wayne because of it. I hope that you can encourage others to try closer places like hood canal or tacoma.
