1. They did not stop scoring, their last goal was scored 2 minutes before the end of the match 2. The now 2nd placed team beat that exact team 29:0 when they played in the middle of the season, so its totally reasonable for them to score 14 more when you are actually trying to score as much as possible.

Important context here: This is not THE U14 league in Hungary, this is county level, which is the lowest level of U14 football. And most teams are from villages or little towns with hundreds or a few thousand people. When I played in this level I had a teammate who sometimes forgot that you can't stop the ball with your hands if you're not the gk. Also, the format in U14 is 2x40 minutes, 8+1 players with not full size pitch, and goals. The team which lost heavily had 9 players meaning they just had a full team, and the team which scored 43 had a full team with 6 substitutes. The winning team coach said he told the players before the match started to score 50 goals, but while playing, encourage the opponent as well so they won't stop playing. The last matchday happened at the same time for everyone, so they didn't know exactly how many goals they needed to score to win. They had to wait while refreshing the databank website to see the result of other teams. And scoring 43 goals in a league where the players are random 12-13 yo kids who can kick a ball at least a few meters away is pretty possible. I've seen results in U14/16/17/19 level like 57-0, 56-0, 33-1 etc. So I think it's more likely that it was not fixed. I remember my cousin coming back from an u10s game (or some similar young age group) after winning about 20-0 and my uncle said that the referee stopped the clock at every single throw in, corner etc, because funnily enough, the good referees get saved for the high level matches and the inexperienced referees get saved for youth matches. Especially if there is something important on the line like a league title, the referee is probably highly inclined to add every last minute of stoppage time on. I can imagine an inexperienced referee in a u14s game adding every single second when the ball is off the pitch back on to the end of stoppage time after 30 goals have already been scored

Never thought my former team would make it to Zelandism, but here we are. I think the result is fairly reasonable, Miklósi scored 29 against that team and they had like 8 after 13 minutes, so they could have scored 43 easily. And they definitely messed up only winning 1-0 on the final day.

Back when I played in u14 we once won 30-0 so this isn't a huge suprise to me. That same team conceded 400+ goals. Also u14 has a smaller pitch, smaller goals (5 meters in width and 2 meters in hight), they play in 8+1vs8+1 (+1 is the goalkeeper) and a match is 70 minutes.

Looking at the table beforehand, the bottom team were absolutely appalling already - I imagine after you slot the first ten past them they'd probably just roll over tbf.

Back in the day, when Zico was the shit, I played in my local teams' u13s. We had lost against the league leaders 0-4 at home earlier that season and now had to play them away. This was a weird system, top 6 remained in the league and bottom 4 played in the lowest league the next season. The weird part is the top 6's league continued while the bottom 4's season was over. We were in 7th needing a miracle win to keep the season going. 5 minutes before the match kicked off we realised our opponents looked unfamiliar, that team came from a village 20 minutes ago so we kinda knew each other after some years of playing each other. Turns out their u13s was away for a tournament and they now fielded their u12s(minus the best players who also were at the tournament). I myself scored a hattrick within the first 4 minutes, later on added another 13 goals to my tally while my brother in arms scored 21. Final score? 2-39. Went from seventh to third. In the following playoffs(our top-6 and the neighbouring regions' top-6) we finished first with a total wipeout. I think our goaldifference was 258-3 in those 10 games. But then again, me and my best friend(both 13 at the time) normally played with our u16s who played at national level instead of regional. There's such a vast difference at these levels that you sometimes see silly scores. We once won 25-2 after being down 1-2 at halftime. Yes, my and my friend could only play in the second half as we played at the u16s game that started two hrs earlier and had to eat and rest a bit before playing. Good ole times.

As a reff my self 10 years in Macedonia and 8 years in Slovenia, there are lot of this kind of games in 1st women league, U19 and U17. And they are all legit games, even with more bigger results. Its just in one woman team plays the hole representation, which are semi pro or pros, and other 9 teams in the league are not even amateurs. And I go and reffed a matches, where I need 3 yellow cards, just to take notes who scored the 50 goals. It can be a fixing, but knowing from tons of experience my self, it can be legit game. Last game, away team cant field even 11 players, just to save some money, and not to get punished from the federation for not going to the away game, and the go with 8 reserves, get battered this much and is all legit.

Here in Croatia(neighbouring county to Hungary) clubs recive some sort of bribes in every category, mostly seniors but there is corruption in the younger categories. You don't have to look far to find similar examples, by the way. Hungary, U14 B league, 2022/23: Kerekegyházi (yes, the same team!) are 21 goals behind Kecskemét before the final match. Which they win 22-1. Was it fixed? I don't know. Probably not. It's crazy that Kerekegyházi manages to get such unlikely last day victories twice in a row -- and I think it's noteworthy, so I guess you didn't know, or else you'd have mentioned it? -- but I suppose it can happen.

This was in the Midland Premier, the 9th tier of English football. Bewdley were already relegated and had only won 1 match all season. These matches happens at the same time and in a league like this it's unlikely everyone knows the score of the other match. There is no way the 1st place team would have known that 2nd place would win only 1-0. If they did, it's very likely the 2nd place team would have been notified of what was happening in the other match and would have pushed very hard for another goal. Actually seems legit, just unbelievable.
