I feel like paid playlists dont generate the kind of fans that will engage long-term. and the algorythmes will punish it if they dont keep coming back

I saw a comment on this video 1 month ago recommending me to submit my song to Xposic Spotify Promotion for consideration on their Spotify playlists. I said that I would come back to reveal my findings on this but can't see my comment anymore, so leaving it as a new comment. I went with a $65 listing which got me 27500 streams for my single.

I have submitted over 120 tracks to spotify curators in the last 3 years but it is obvious that getting placed on a spotify playlist by submitting your tracks to spotify curators is as probable as to winning the lottery.

I don't believe artist should pay for placement. Understand our art is already being used to generate revenue for both the platform and the curators.

That's like saying businesses shouldn't pay for marketing or advertising. Sure it's "unfair" but it's the cost of doing business/growth. Especially in the beginning
