I have moving migraine. I have variables in my headaches. I have had many tests, MRI, CATscans, blood work, ER, after ER, after ER visits and many shots if visterol, and demerol, and anti nausea injections. Those do not help...in the long run. Pray to God. You are special, migraine headache sufferers, you are blessed by being cursed as you have a special ability to interpret, and discern "many" things. Just as I have, and am, and will continue to be until that day, the final day. God bless us all.

Yeah i noticed this. Yesterday when i woke up after 10 minutes i got blurred vision then headache. When i try to figure out trigger i noticed yesterday sudden change in temperature due to non seasonal rain which cause sudden change in temperature. Other triggers are like when i skipped meal and when my eyes get to much dry(i use artificial tear) and also when my sleep pattern change. There is less data available and treatment. Hope we can help each other.

I have suffered from chronic debilitating migraines since I was a child, literally had first migraine around seven years of age! Since I was young and then were 1-2 times per year and I had horrific vomiting my parents thought at first I just got a stomach virus. It was not until I reached 11-12 that they became super frequent and horrendous. In my teens my doctor tried medications but nothing worked. They were embarrassing as no one else I knew had them and I would lie about it. I am always light sensitive so with migraines I sometimes get visual disturbances of shooting stars, loss of peripheral vision, strobing effects. I am bedridden throughout them. As I went through menopause they became less frequent but changed in intensity and duration. Whereas I. Would always vomit when younger, this became almost non existent, or rare. But pain would hit a piercing high. Now over 60 they are again becoming more frequent. I did notice that when I get Botox in my face they seem to go away for a long period of time. I reached a point when I was young that I decided that this was just my cross to bear in life .

Before I get a migraine I can feel it coming, I am really sensitive to strong smells, light and high pitch voices. If I am really stressed and tired and slept in a bad position, I will get it for sure. If am hungry for too long I will get it, if I have been sleeping all day I will get it, if am too sad, I will get it. I usually take panadol, rub my arms and legs in targeted places and go straight to bed. - -- If I cannot do that on time then I also cry out of pain and want to vomit as well. Things that help me besides that are laughter, exercise and hugs. The best thing after a migraine and post migraine, is when you wake up full of energy and perfectly fine like you havent been dying out of pain an hour ago. Is like your brain was switched off and on again.

When I was younger, I could sense a migraine coming on while watching tv, and I would force myself to stay watching, as there was not so easy to just stop and resume viewing as it is today, and I usually wanted to see the end of whatever I was watching... I would do this, even after I learned that I would most likely get a migraine attack after, but in the end, I had to teach myself to give up at the first point, because I would rarely be able to finish watching whatever it was I was watching anyway, and the longer I sat up watching tv, the stronger the migraine attack would be... It was better to just turn off the TV, and retreat to the bed sooner than later, and try to fall asleep before it got bad... But recently I got to try rizatriptan, which works wonders for me, and propanol, that I think helps, but not sure yet... (I have mostly hormonal migraines, and are overweight.)

I’ve been keeping a diary to discover some of my triggers. Salt, MSG, sweeteners, Red Wine, Strong artificial smells (e.g. vanilla air freshener), excessive sugar, squinting at the sun, hunger, dehydration, oversleeping (between 9 and 12+ hours, despite my habit to sleep through migraines), stress/ panic.

Wow those are a lot of triggers. That’s good that you’ve learned to recognize them tho. In my case lack of sleep, not wearing my glasses enough, dehydration, too much social media even while wearing my glasses, hunger, and keeping my head down for too long while using my computer, phone or iPad. As long as I avoid these I’m good 🥲 I haven’t had a migraine in over a year and very few headaches 🙏🏻

It feels like there's a connection between epilepsy and migraines because of the auras and no physical problem with the brain. I've been getting migraine since I was 4. Unfortunately most migraine sufferers are women and therefore there is no funding put towards research. Hence why the majority of migraine medications had a previous life as antidepressants, antipsychotics and muscle relaxants. I recently started Botox injections in my neck and shoulders and I've noticed a small improvement but overall I deserve better. I know too many women who suffer with migraines who simply get told to take Panadol.

There is definitely a connection, both involve a lower threshold for any sort of stimulus, both involve cortical spreading depression, auras, etc. Recall that most action potentials have to occur at threshold, well some people have a lower threshold and it is easier to reach action potential. I believe the difference is that migraine is inappropriate firing of sensory (afferent) neurons while seizure is inappropriate firing of motor (efferent) neurons. You will also find that medications to treat seizures are often effective in treating migraines as well.

Hello!”Migrainer” here!My migraines are mainly hormonal, but I have discovered over the years that processed foods like salami or ready made meals ,nuts ,citrus fruits and the latest jelly bonbons and too many fizzy drinks are my biggest triggers when it comes to food.I would avoid coffee if I’m already sick ,but if I feel that migraine is coming I have a good quality coffee and go out for a walk or do a food shopping. That sometimes saves me from getting full blown migraine. There are days where nothing but a sleep and wait till it’s over helps but I hope this is maybe helpful information to someone who is trying to find their own ways to help with migraines.✌🏼

YES. I finally know whats going on with me. My trigger is stress. This ONE trigger will activate the rest. I will get sensitive to light, caffeine AND gluten, during periods of STRESS. I have been wondering why i get migranes (I refuse to take over the counter medicine for them and I havent been to the doctor for them because I havent been too good at self-care the past 10 years of my life) for years. I wanted to know WHY, now I do. THANK YOU. I will work on my stress levels to prevent my symptoms. They are so bad I end up laying down for hours unable to function. But recently they have gotten worse which has lead me to search online and after watching this video i decided to seek a specialist to get better. I cant keep having them daily. I need to work! Hi, I hope you’re doing better. The worst migraines episodes I’ve ever had happened during a time in my life where I was going through so much stress. So yes stress is a huge trigger. I’d say making sure you’re properly hydrated, sleeping enough, do some breath work before bed and after waking up and stretch your neck area a few times a day. I also avoid to take meds, even tho I haven’t had a migraine in over a year I get random headaches, but drinking water with a pinch of salt, stretching my neck and a few deep breadths helps me get rid of it. I did go to see a neurologist a year ago & he prescribed me preventative medication that I’m only supposed to take when I get a migraine and as soon as possible. Also only 1 pill every 72 hours. That pill is the only thing that can completely stop the migraine in less than 30 min, but it does make me feel super drowsy after, even for a day or too 😅

Dont try to explain the pain. Even If you put it in word no one will understand how you suffer. You suffering should be explained with how you miss being able to be there for others and experience life. That way others will find it easier to take part in your stories.

This made a lot of sense to me. I have suffered with migraines since I was a child and have now been diagnosed with Hemiplegic Migraines. It's so awful, but I know what the triggers are because of preventative medicines. It's hard to stay away from environmental triggers. Any ideas of what to do?

I read that peanuts are notorious for developing a certain kind of mold. I have long suspected that's why sometimes I eat them just fine and other times they trigger me. I'm very sensitive to mold tho. I'm not sure if that would be a fit for everyone

Scent triggers are no fun. The smell of red wine or mint is just ghastly. And all of the aromatherapy remedies for headaches smell like mint!

I’ve only ever had migraines so don’t know what a headache is! People say they have a headache and they suffer with it and keep going. Can’t do that with a migraine.

I have been having migraines since I was a child. Recently I have constant headaches, I think from wearing a face mask for 8 hours a day, as required at my work in these times of Covid. Does anyone know more about that? And how to deal with it?

You probably need oxygen. Seek and you will find a mask for $16-18.that may help. But I’m finally convinced of what John’s Hopkins specialist told me. “It’s a combination of things, but always a food sensitivity. “ ( Maybe an environmental one, too like ivory soap etc etc.)

Texas migraine clinic. Look it up. They get to the CORE and you don't have to go into the office. You get a free consultation. They do appointments on zoom. You don't have to live in TX and he's affordable.

Why do none of these doctors discuss the role of trauma in this neurological disorder? I was able to heal my chronic condition. The traumatized nervous system is absolutely sensitive and can be regulated over time. It seems like all the do is focus on the fact that there is pain and then discuss some new bs pharma treatment. The absolute worst thing i ever did for my condition was take the pills - a 50% success rate with the side effect of migraine is an absolute joke. ITs good to listen to understand how your brain works but they are not touching on root cause.

Yea every medication I ever tried bar one made my migraines worse and last double the time. But the one that did work nearly killed me cos I went into ventricular tachycardia. Once I was hospitalised for 2 weeks while they tried to stop my migraine. They were coming in every so many hours dosing me up with a concoction of pills but after five days I started spitting them out when they left the room because I was certain they were causing even more problems than the initial migraine. It was becoming a vicious cycle of pain killers adding to the cause.
