The spotted seal (Phoca largha), also known as the larga seal or largha seal is a species of seal close to the common seal. Lara is light, variegated, light silvery below, darker above, with a dense network of medium-sized brown or black spots.
Larga lives in the northern Pacific Ocean from Alaska to Japan and the Russian Far East coast. In Russia, it inhabits the Far Eastern seas from the bays of Peter the Great and Posyet to the Chukchi Sea, including the Tatar Strait, the Sea of Okhotsk, the northern and southern islands of the Kuril ridge, the Bering Sea, and partly the Commander Islands.
