HVLP spraying with the Tikkurila Everal Aqua 40 using my stage 5 HVLP sprayer, affectionately dubbed the QT-5, is an absolute delight and using the remote pot (it hold more paint) is an added bonus.
In this video chronicling the flat renovation, I take you step-by-step through the meticulous process of transforming the entrance hall's color from its previous blue shade to a more visually pleasing hue.

watch my HVLP set up video.. vaseline on the threads and light wipe on teh needle and I also smer a light amount on the pick up pipe. stops paint drying on it then.

It's not brilliant.. small rooms worse. Turn down air flow it's not atomising enough and does a splattered Finish. Any dust in the room also gets moved about.

Agree. Oil makes a real mess because it stays wet and sticky in the air. You need to be pretty deliberate with your air flow in and out.

Hi Phil do you think taking into consideration the masking up and gun cleaning that it was quicker to spray v painting that relatively small area with brush / roller?

I did it ith a mini roller the last time. The fiinish with the spray is so much better and it doesn't take long to tape up with a hand masking machine. When spraying, the paint seems to dry quicker too.. also you're not phyically applying the paint like with a roller or brush, so once it's gone off, ou can start spraying agiain.

Hi Phil I would like to do a spraying training course but looking online Dulux training centre and paint tech offer courses but are only 2 days. Would you say this is long enough? Your advice would be much appreciated.

Can't can't really say. Two days to learn the basics is better than nothing. It's tondo with practice once you know what you're doing. Abode academy with Jamie is another that do courses. Look around and read reviews. I've a loads of videos you could watch over two days lol

Hi Phil I am building and spraying wardrobes - would you recommend the Graco GFXX or the HVLP 9.5 for a great finish? Workshop isn't huge so there is that to consider. Thank Phil

Hi. I'd go with HVLP (like my Qt5) You'd have more control with it, easy set up and clean up ... Can spray smaller quantities too. Once you get into that, you may want to go airless.. or even air assisted for a workshop set up.... ££££

@@ProfessionalPainterDecorator I got one of the cheap screwfix/toolstation one after you reviewed but have only had small bits with multiple coats to do since. I didn't think it was worth using because of cleaning between coats, now realising you only had a smallish bit to do that I was wrong. Cheers Phil.

i'm not sure i understand, other than a bit of paint on the tip that my dry, you wipe that off before spraying.. the tips don't need to be kept wet.

Both hard wearing. Everal Aqua can be used outside. Wouldn't go wrong with either

Hey Phil, have you tried the 3m pps set with your q5 to reduce clean up time?

It's a different fitting for the hose. So it only connects to my c330 compressor. :(

I was thinking you could connect the pps cup using 3m adapter no 18 too the q70 gun?

Another great video Phil 👍🏻 I’m curious, in between coats what do you do with your gun? Do you leave the paint in the pot and and leave the gun as it is, or do you stick the gun in water, or clean out completely?

@@slinger247 paint left in the pot.. it's air tight, so won't alter. Leave the gun as it is, when you come back t spray again, the end of the needle may have dried up paint on the end, wipe it off witha damp cloth, check it sprays and away you go again. It not like leaving it over night lol

@ProfessionalPainterDecorator what do people see. You are using your flat refub,as a test bed for different finishes on you tube to help people. Can't people see that🤔 You would not be doing this on a paid job. 🙄🙄🙄🙄 people
