Spreading manure in a winter wonderland. The 1466 handles the spreader well and some shiny new parts are added to the spreader. Oh and keep an eye out for the farm manager in this video!

I know this sounds a little weird, But..... I just love the aroma of fresh cut hay AND Manure being spread on the fields from the farm

Hay is delightful, and dairy manure isn't too rank, but I Know we stink up the neighborhood when we spread manure.

Used to spread a bit in the winter back when we had solid manure. Now that we’ve gone to liquid/slurry we really can’t do anything with it in the winter, pump freezes up. Anyway, looks like fun, good video.

We like having a smaller spreader for the winter. I guess it depends on the conditions. Its hillsides were we are at mostly with some ridge tops. Its nice having more tractor than spreader in snowy and icy conditions, IMHO. But another great video.

6:00 Typical New Holland jack... screws "backwards" to what you would expect. That is, spins to the left to lower the jack and crank the tongue up. While a right-handed person can spin crank with more force to the right.

I want to start bagging corn; I have a sewing machine, now I just need to get the dryer working, and maybe a grain cleaner. I already have a willing wholesale account inline. This year we are almost signed up for a nongmo beans contract, that was on the list. I am dying for more ear corn storage, but I really should be looking at hay storage, which I would build tall enough to dump a New Holland stacker wagon.
@BarnyardEngineering5 жыл бұрын
That 14 makes the spreader look tiny and your dad's making those loads count. Piece of advice, though, v-bottom spreaders don't work well for pen pack manure like that in my experience. Forked more than one load off in the middle of winter due to it getting sucked under the auger and jamming up. Snaps a #100H chain like a rubber band.
@boehmfarm42765 жыл бұрын
Mostly, we bed with wood chips and all too often in the summer, the manure is very wet. We'll just be careful with the scoops from around the hay feeders.
