Very fascinating. An eye-opening interview. Very much fish and demand that, for a change, our national tv broadcasters relay suchlike programs while giving us a respite to useless and non productive political discussions that is leading us to no where but confusion in national goals and destiny. Great Dr Sabieh may God bless you with a long life and and may you continue to play your role in teaching the much needed sermons for the development of science and technology in our country. My special praise and thanks to the interviewer Mr Zaidi for arranging and conducting such a rare and most fascinating interview. I am really impressed. I would like see him more in our national programms.

I think you should really invite more folks from UET, GCU, and other prestigious public institutes. I absolutely love your show and I'm not trying to hate on the tier-1 private institutes right now, but the "elite capture" of your show is unsettling at times. Pakistan will be changed (majorly) by the students graduating from public institutions, coming from humble backgrounds, who know the struggles and problems of a common man, not by some elite class which is thoroughly disconnected from the working class. The majority of your audience comprises middle class youth, and I'm pretty sure they feel disgruntled when they see someone born with a silver spoon getting all the fame and recognition, even though they owe the majority of their success to their privileged background. Not everyone can afford LUMS, FAST, GIKI, foreign institutes (these 3-4 degrees comprise 90% of your guests). Invite more accomplished people from public institutes who are doing great things in public space, so that we can also feel included. Cheers and keep making these podcasts!

I wholeheartedly agree with you. However, some students(still a minority) from underprivileged/humble backgrounds do study at LUMS, thanks to the fully funded scholarships they offer. What I am trying to say is that studying at LUMS doesn't always necessarily equate to being upper class. Note: What I've said above is true for the physics department at LUMS, I am not sure about other subjects. Thanks
@ayearninghope
@ayearninghope Жыл бұрын
They even sponsor students from all over Pakistan for a 2 week-long stay(food, accommodation, health insurance) at LUMS. They prepare these students for SAT & pay their application fee as well. Then, based on the results, their application is deferred or accepted. In my opinion, this is very much a meritocratic approach & more unis should employ something similar.

If you hear them, it seems everything is fine and they are very loyal; in reality, nothing is happening. Institutions are just delivering the degrees, and the ones who are really educated go abroad. The value of education is not as powerful as it used to be. Doctors left the service and became KZfaqrs. Professions are no longer linked to degrees. Yes, degrees reveal that you know something, nothing else. Short courses and pragmatic experience do matter more than degrees. Thank you for reading.

Innovation science aur engineering ki part nhi ha management ki ha aur mulk physics se nhi economics se chlta ha.. aur jahan tk universities ki baat ha I don't know about Lahore lekin basic sciences were common in Karachi... Karachi University is still considered best for research degrees. LUMS is best for management sciences not basic science.

Uth jayein bhai jan karachi ki koi university se 70% logon ka bahir PhD programs mein jana chorein admission bhi nahi hota. LUMS school of science and engineering se 10 mein se 7 log bahir PhD programs mein admit hote hain. PhD program mein paisa nahin zehan aur achi undergraduate parhayi chahiye hoti hai isliye paise ka bahana bhi nahin.
