We are rebuilding a Honda Spree with a $50 rebuild kit. Hopefully it will work, lol. It should be fun. Check it out with us and see the problems we have with this little spree.

@@octanegarage3729 Hey so today I learned its easier to install one of the clips first on the piston. I chose to install it on the shock/carb side to make things a little easier. Im lacking assembly oil so I'm hoping the 2 stroke oil will cut it. Did you ever officially find out which way the head gasket goes?

I got a 85 spree for my 16th birthday brand new I still have it I need to pull it out and get it running again.Every so often mine would start bogging down and a Honda mechanic told me to take the muffler off and burn it in a hot fire then take it out use a water hose to blow water though it while tapping on the muffler with a piece of wood.I would get a lot of chunks of carbon out some pretty big.Put muffler back on and it would run great again

I threw my exhaust in a fire for a couple of hours to burn out all the oil. It seemed to make my Spree start and run smoother.

I rebuilt a Zuma 50 two stroke this year. I replaced nearly everything and it would idol but wouldn’t rev up. I found a comment on the forums about the exhaust being plugged up. I spent an hour with it on a camping stove, map gas and an air compressor. Man it runs like new and I’ve never seen it do 42 mph before

I would still definitely clean the carb and make sure all the jets are clean and float is good. Enjoyed the video. A spree was my independence and freedom when I was 13! Brought back some memories for sure of riding around in middle school.

Answered every question I had regarding my '84 spree basket case. Ordered the niche industries kit, a carb, some tune up parts...you cut away when you said what compression was supposed to be 😂

The proper torque specifications on those engines is 1 ugga dugga. 2 will strip out threads.

The engine looks like its the same one on the Honda Sh50 "Scoopy/City". England uses the name City and here in Norway Scoopy. But Spree is new to me....and it is only the engine that looks the same.

That oil pump did go out and raw gas causes that piston to burn.

The cylinder head is the wrong way around it wont cool the engine you are lucky if by now it hasnt blown up...
