The last arc WAS a tournament arc, namely to see who was gonna run the Demon Realm, it was just rushed and left out half the character development of the manga.

It actually was a tournament ark, but it pulls a fast one by having the protagonist and the Antagonist fight and draw in the second bracket and the winner is a semi joke character introduced and now that joke character now rules the demon world because he won, the Antagonist is 100% fine with this then went to spend time with his son instead or something. I actually liked it because it ended in a way I never would have expected.

That is sesaon two where things get really crazy. You see after drinking so much hot sugary tea, Azusa has to get a dental filling which she is deathly afraid of and she has to retire her place in the tournament. This also jump-starts the coming of age ark for Mio.In which she is trying to show courage for Azusa, all the while comforting her for her loss at the tournament.

I just decided to give "Shuumatsu Nani Shitemasu ka? Isogashii desu ka? Sukutte Moratte Ii desu ka?" a shot and I just finished it. After that I must say you're wrong. Honestly, give it a shot. SukaSuka it's pretty good. Amazing actually.

Yes it is a truly masterpiece. I got moved in a way that I've never been before, not even by Mahoutsukai no Yome, which was already very emotionnal. I hope he gives a try, because it's a must watch, and one of the best anime I've watched in the 10 past years. Also best OST ever heard

I'm pretty much missed every fucking show in spring 2017 because of AoT, Eromanga-sensei, Rokudenashi, and SukaSuka. I gotta say, SukaSuka is masterpiece. There's also this show called Tsuki ga Kirei, I hope you gave it a chance. It's a nice show that most people missed because of the overflowing sequel coming out of nowhere

Dear Gigguk, I just discovered your channel last night, binge watched a ton of your stuff, and realized that I stayed up all night doing so. It was then that I subscribed. I don’t even friggin watch anime! I’m in the middle of Death Note and that’s the only one I’ve ever tried watching. The chances are low that you'll see this Gigguk, but what the hell. I hope that you give SukaSuka a shot. Sure the anime had the stereotypical LN name and would sometimes fall into typical anime tropes, but then you would miss one of the most organic relationships in anime that I've seen in a long time (Granted I'm more of a filthy casual). At the very least, give the OST a listen.

But they chose the worst possible option for exposition which is infodumping. It's lazy, low-effort (basically just making Meteora, the most boring character, read a script) and not really interesting or entertaining. The pacing is awfully slow and there's a lot of nothing happening except in a room talking. At least make the talks interesting damnit but they don't even advance the plot with all these dialogues

I'm a little sad that everyone is missing out on the masterpiece that came out this spring that is "The King's avatar" or "Quan Zhi Gao Shou", for me at least, it is by far the best show this season. Especially since Gigguk made a video stating how he wanted a E-sports anime and this was like the Anime God's response to his request. Edit: Ok, nevermind, I just watched Gigguk's "God of anime", lol now I just seem like a douche.

No explanation tbh my favorite arc was the Dragon King Festival arc, then the Edolas arc, and then the Grand Magic Games arc, to which I screamed my lungs out because of how awesome it was. Seriously we had Laxus kick the shit out of an entire dark guild, Erza defeat 100 demons and Cana OBLITERATE EVERYBODY WITH FAIRY GLITTER! At that point in the arc I was practically screaming "FAIRY TAIL! FAIRY TAIL! WOOOOO!" while doing the sign.

I love it but the past couple episodes have had some reeeeeally trashy animation. I don't ever notice this stuff, but suddenly it went from, like, a 7-8 level quality to 3-4 level quality.

It's when the story spends a few episodes/chapters centering around putting the characters in a tournament so that the audience can watch multiple fights back to back with multiple fighting styles and weapons
