I’m pretty excited that Inktense have brought out some more colours! Also that pallet is now on my birthday wish list. I usually just lift paint straight off the tip of the pencil, having a pallet like that will make things so much easier. Thanks for sharing all of this with us ❤

You're welcome, someone recommended the palette to me before. On an earlier video I think! And I realised how such a simple idea would make a difference, just had to share. I am excited about the new Inktense colours too, I'm going to make a seriously epic swatching video at some point for the entire set 😁

I love those shimmery paints. My first thought was a starling with their iridescent feathers. They're really going to make a lot of your artwork pop. I also love that book, it's beautiful.

Ohh what an excellent idea, you're right a starling would look great in these! I'll have to paint some 😁 The book is fast becoming a favourite, and I have't read most of it yet just really enjoyed looking at the pictures!

What a beautiful book. Its now on my wish list. I've got the 1821 reprint book of Werners Nonenclature of colours (the tables of colours included in the book you reviewed) I'm a pigment nerd so those cmyk pages would interest me a lot for my watercolours. Thanks for the review

Thank you for your comment, I haven't seen the earlier versions of Werner's Nomenclature, but I really love how much this book has extended it, especially all the amazing plates from old books, and photographs of collections. It's one of those books that I am repeatedly excited about and happy to own, so just had to include it in this video 😊

Just found you! Love this video and I am excited to binge watch all that you uploaded so far. I'd love to see you making the hard cover for your flat book in the future. Gosh the watercolour palette is an amazing tool to have! Didn't know it exists.

Thanks Alex! I’ve ordered the palette and hopefully it will arrive soon. I can’t wait to try it. I’d be interested to know whether it cleans up well? Or does it leave a residue? I suppose you could wash it in detergent or something, or maybe put it in the dishwasher? I have other watercolour pencils and the Caran D’ache neocolour II crayons to use with it, too. I have also bought some Khadi paper from my local art shop and I’m really enjoying using it. It’s beautiful for watercolour. It was very soothing listening to the rain falling while you were talking! Thanks again. 😊

It can stain, the longer you leave it, the more it stains. I think watercolors should be fine but Inktense is permanent and vibrant. I'm not too worried about this though because it doesn't affect the colours you lay over the top and you can test the colour on spare paper anyway. Glad you enjoyed the rain, it makes a nice "backing track", though I'm still very happy it's gone now 🤣

I have the Caran d'Ache palette for watercolour pencils too, but dont think I've used it yet. I'm curious to know how easy it is to clean if you want to put new colours on?

Oops found your reply below answering this. 😅 Also, have you thought about wearing a sock on your hand to wipe the brush clean? Probably not the best to be putting pigment on your skin as it absorbs and some can be toxic.

Oh really? Didn't know that. I doubt these are particularly toxic (plus the quantity is sooo tiny and washed out) but I'll look up and find out. Its such a habit now too 😄
