Love both your work ethic. Great family values. Jack is definitely your sidekick. Great that he has a dad that is teaching him how to work the land. So many boys are in need of fatherly leadership today.

Enjoyed the garden planting. Especially Jamie’s carefree approach ❤

you know, i have to chuckle, every year the garden does great and every year I stress about spacing and seed depth and Jami's over here just sprinkling seeds and growing food lol.. -Zeb

@@jamiandzeb my sister-in-law introduced me to your channel. I hate yard sales, never ever go to thrift stores (the thought of someone else’s used bedding totally creeps me out) I am a crafter/gardener. I really enjoy your videos! Why I like the thrifting ones I have no idea! I think it is the two of you! Your attitudes and interaction with each other! Of course I am referring to the other channel. This channel’s content is more of my “normal” enjoyment! I wish you continued success 💜

I realized that I hadn't finished this video! So glad I came back to it. I love this channel & all the different projects! ❤ The strawberries already look amazing! My fig tree also took longer to leaf out this year,Zeb. I was concerned for awhile because it usually doesn't take this long! It's great now..I think you guys had a longer wait with the cold snap. Thanks for the updates on everything!! Love the garden area💚🌿

I discovered that if you check daily you can hoe the weeds out when they are tiny. It takes less time than waiting until they are bigger and you have to pull them. Of course I like to spend my time outside puttering in the yard!

One suggestion on repairing the couch for the cottage. Use the fabric from one of the pillows to the mend the tear.

Just a little FYI if you happen to get any aphids on your plants in the beds outside put banana peels it will keep the aphids away also if you get ants stick some cinnamon sticks throughout your beds and it will get rid of the ants, happy gardening, I loved your video

It would be helpful if you would put the date you’re filming on the screen, so we can see what your weather is at different times of the year. Also, when you start your garden, etc. The quack grass pulled up easier if you wet the area first. I also use a spading fork to loosen the roots. It is a beast and I hate it! I’m sure you’re considering this, but taking all the natural vegetation away from an area will leave the hillside open to erosion. That’s exciting that you’ll have grapes! It looks like it has some chlorosis, it would help it to add some sulphur in the soil around it or HDDA chelated iron. The alkaline soil in the area binds up the iron that’s in the soil so the plants can’t use it. Chlorosis looks like yellowing leave, but with greener veins in the leaves. Fun video!

each video is time stamped above the description. We plant after mother's day every year. 🙂

I love that you give your kids the opportunity to learn to operate the heavy machinery. Love your garden and yes, sage is growing like a weed, too. You'll have to trim it back periodically as it will overtake the whole bed if left alone. A digging fork is handy to loosen those grass roots so they don't break so easily. There are membranes that you can put in the ground to stop the roots coming through but I don't know how successful those are. Cottage coming along nicely!

I learned how to do most of the work I do now before I was 15 and most of the work ethic to figure out what I don’t know how to do at the same time. If my parents were doing a project the whole family had a project when we were kids lol.

@@jamiandzeb That's a great approach! I wish that I would have been more involved with tools when growing up but no time like the present to learn new skills!

Looking good, all your hard work is paying off. the cottage will be amazing and the cabin will be a nice spot to rest on those down days that you have (although, there are very few of them, lol) I still have yet to plan my garden so you're giving me hope as to getting it done still, I live in the Boise area. I've heard that if you place red painted rocks in with the strawberries the birds will peck at the rocks and once the strawberries come along they will be safer.

What kind of tractor do you have? I’d love to get one for my hubby!
@jamiandzebАй бұрын
This is the TYM 574. I did a ton of research and cost evaluations on initial price and maintenance and this tractor added up to being one of the best values on paper. It did have a mechanical issue with the 4 wheel drive but my dealership has been great to fix it and TYM overnighted them parts.
