Rocky Mountain small creeks are where I enjoy spending my time filming fly fishing during the spring months in Montana. The big insect hatches that can take place bring the big trout up to the surface making it possible to capture incredible footage. It's what I love to do as a cinematographer. Watch good friend Pete Corbett throw long leaders to large brown trout, rainbow trout and cutthroat trout during Montana's spring PMD hatch. It really doesn't get much better than this.

How can it get any better? Fishing dries, big fish rising, Pete Corbett doing what he does so well (and you've got to love his expressions), and all captured by Todd Moen, the very best at fly fishing videos. Thanks so much, Todd for another fantastic job. Thanks also for capturing the whole experience. Incidentally, loved the shots of the pronghorns. When I was out there in '76 (graduation present), we had one pass our truck and we were doing 50!

Fished spring creeks near me and the great rivers in Montana as a resident for 17 years. Before the population boom. This really is what it was like and still - if ya know where to go and the folks who give access. Wonderful, wonderful memories here! Madison Valley is very, very special! I was in fly-fishing videos myself back in the day....

No day fee that I'm aware of. A few senior guides that have been around for 40 years or so use the ranch but it's just a classic working ranch with a little spring running through it.

I'll be in Montana next month..June 16 to 23rd. Missoula and Glacier areas, and want to spin fish. Is it true that I can fish anywhere along the Clark Fork that's not private? Also what lures do you recommend? Thank you

Clark Fork has good access at many of the boat launches. Although be aware the river at that point will be very high and muddy from spring runoff. I'm just not sure about lures we fly fish.

I think only old veterans guides who have been around for 40 years or so get the privilege of guiding this water. It’s a working ranch, the real deal with a small spring creek that happens to run through it.
