Today we are moving muck with some spring harrows! We normally use the heavy chain harrows and thought we would give the spring harrows a try on our long grass!

I'd like to see and hear how the whole farm looks, like all of your buildings with pop ups saying what they are ,with a voice over of u telling us what they are used for maybe? I dunno just a idea for a video only a drown shot really shouldn't be to hard and will be great content and good insight to the farm ...

Just been on the chain harrows this week as well. I pulled up a couple of horse shoes while I was out, glad it was before I mowed! Never mind about your lines, a blind man would be pleased to see em 😉. And yes... I caught a post with the harrow frame as well 😣

What’s your experience using a broadcast seeder in conjunction with a Chain harrow versus a spring tine harrow? We’ve been operating with a chain harrow for a few years and are contemplating making the move to a spring tine harrow. Only issue, it’s hard to come by spring tine harrows in the States and it’s been complicated by covid (can’t get equipment made in Europe here right now).

We had a set of spring harrows afew years ago, bid the silage fields, didn't think it made any difference to the grass, wasted diesel and made stripes in the fields, there lying underneath a hedge now, may try and sell them on gumtree.

To get straight lines go up the middle of the field first pass. So half the field the half it again it works ! Don’t turn around on yourself go every other. Hope that makes sense.

Lines look dead straight to me, but I do have a Specsaver appointment next week. I am sure I saw your dad hit that fence, last year. Never mind. to an ex grain merchant who concentrated on arable, your vids are educational. If the name rings any bells with you, I did know Paul Watkins - cattle cubicle sheds in the 70's, vacuum silage.

I'm always wondering how many cows you're milking vs how many total dairy cows you have. Also, how many if other kinds of animals do you have? Did the issue with the cow's feet get resolved? Do you intend to grow your highland herd and by how much? Thanks for the video.
