We took this trip May 6-9 2022. Ice out was early this year and we had this trip planned for the following week but bumped it up anticipating the bugs to be awake the following week. We had an excellent trip with amazing weather other than heavy wind that we had to paddle into for the first two days. It was very warm during the days and very dry (not Emma, Emma is always wet). We started at Magnetawan put in and made our way over to Misty Lake for night 1, night 2 is on White Trout Lake. this video is about Day 3 & 4. Day 3 we make our way to Bandit Lake and we see a moose! We are greeted at camp by spring peepers and James shows how he does his bear hang which can hold even the heaviest load. We build a fire and style in for the night. Day 4 is filled with more downed trees, beaver dams and portaging as we make our way out of the park.

I love it when they're beautiful dog just randomly jumps into the lake and had Zoomies through the campsite as if to give her stamp of approval.😊

Love you both and Emma! My wife and I paddled the Park in early sixties. Used to return by train with canoe on Cedar Lake at Brent to Pembroke. Catch a ride to Canoe Lake with returning Rangers to pick up car. Some trips 10 days/ 2 weeks. Love your videos.

I miss spring peepers. Interior Alaska has one frog, the Wood Frog. they sing but not as noisy. no snakes. You are bringing back memories. I think it was in the park a campsite that had the remains of an airplane. that was at least 50 years ago or more. Might not have been in the park. Have you heard of such a place.

Are you living in Alaska now? Such a beautiful place, we would love to visit someday.. even if you’ve only got one frog! Have not heard of a place with the airplane, but that would be very interesting to see!

Where ever the plane was it was the first time that I saw a Whisky Jack and was old enough to remember. I May have been as young as 4 years. Burnt Island and the Joe lakes the only names I remember. The Lake I remember best was not in the Park. Lake O'Sulivan (spelling ?) farther North off route 11. We were there the first year a road was put in. Went there 3 times at least. My parents Floated the Missanaibe(Spelling) to Moosonee in the early 60's with next to no info available about the river. They had a good time with no troubles.

I have seen this pull system before, I will employ this on my trip to North opeongo in August, except I will try with wire rope so even if a bear tries it cannot chew through it. My food will be in a 20L dry bag so not very heavy. Love your videos and your pup 🥰🐶

Did you guys have waterproof socks? If not, your feet must've been freezing when getting your shoes wet!
@TwoPacksandaPup
@TwoPacksandaPup Жыл бұрын
No! We are considering getting them actually.. but we always wear wool socks and they really do a great job of keeping our feet comfortable in the water shoes that we wear. My feet are colder in dry wool socks at camp with crocks on in the spring than when wet while we are traveling haha

😂 Bob, I’m sure your wife is a gem. Everyone’s a little bitchy sometimes and no one has perfect teeth... Perhaps you could find what your wife enjoys and figure a way to bring it to the bush to entice her to join you! ..or you could go it yourself of course and have a lovely solo break. Anyway you enjoy the outdoors is good ♥️♥️♥️ Cheers and thanks for coming along
