Looking lovely in your dress ❤️..... I am a beginner knitter and have just finished knitting the beret!! I knitted it in teal and love it. It sits so well on the head. Knitting is definitely my new favourite 🧶

I was either a redhead or a platinum blonde for my entire life but I finally felt like me when I went jet black! Who knows what the future will bring though....? Thank you so much for watching along!

Thank you! The little chicken box once held an Easter egg and was from Harrods in the 1950's ~ it's a treasured little item!

Oh, the Jan sweater, that was my first proper knit. Lovely knit but size down. I knitted the 42 bust but feel it's slightly too loose....blousy look is lovely but slightly tighter would look more like the original. Also I'm short waisted so wish I had shortened it a bit. Enjoy your knit ❤️

Hello! Just wondering if you would consider this a beginner friendly pattern? I bought a couple of true vintage patterns and they are confusing me so badly 😅 So I thought I might try a modern vintage knitting pattern, and I adore this one!

I know exactly what you mean about vintage patterns! So lovely but hard to get my head around! I think the Sinead cardie is really straightforward and although there's a lot of shaping, it's really straightforward! And Susan Crawford patterns are really easy to follow too ~ she really is the queen of vintage modern knitting!

The 5x ball count for the twinset is the pattern contrast only which is likely why you're coming up short. The yarn requirements for the sweater & cardigan aren't listed separately - they're combined totals

Ah thankyou! I've knitted it before and had 6 balls which were perfect. This wool maybe has less meterage per ball also? Note to self - read wool requirements more carefully!

I always work out meterage/yardage when substituting yarn as the ball band weight (fingering, DK, etc) can be a bit arbitrary. The spin (woolen/worsted) and fibre content (acrylic, yak, merino) all make for different yarns that can all be marketed as 'fingering' but be completely different in every way. For example, acrylic is much heavier physically than woolen spun suri alpaca, so 50g of acrylic will have a lot less meterage than 50g of suri. Hope thats helpful 😊
