To my great surprise, Spring was a surprisingly prolific creative season for me filled with lots of interesting projects! From making key pieces for my honeymoon in Japan to easy-to)sew wardrobe staples, some Sashiko embroidery, a glamorous dress, and even some traditionally woven Nuno Zôri slippers from old fabric scraps! I hope you enjoy 😊

Love all your makes! 😍 Maybe you could add a thin strap to the strapless side of the bathing suit. That way you wouldn't have to keep pulling it up and it would still have the interesting asymmetric look

It's such a great fit! I thought exactly the same that it would look great with a spaghetti strap and I'm sure it would not look like a fix but rather like a design element ;)

A couple of ideas to selvage the swimsuit if you're interested. 1. Attach a ring to the right side of the suit, and create a strap to go over your shoulder. 2. add a thin strap to the right side of the suit. 3. Add little triangles of fabric to the right edge of the suit and then make a thin strap to go over your shoulder. All 3 options should make the suit look "interesting" and prevent wardrobe malfunctions.

Hi Sarah, I love all your wonderful makes especially the beautiful dress you made for the wedding, if I was about 10 inches taller and two sizes smaller it would suit me too !! Have you considered adding a strip of silicone to the inside of your swimsuit on the side where there is no strap ? the sort you get inside strapless bras to stop them slipping , it might work . Good luck :)

I always get super excited when I see that you've posted a new video! I always love all your beautiful makes and get so many pattern recommendations through what you share. Iv got both of those cardigan patterns on my wish list! That dress you made for the wedding is STUNNING! How nice be have something that has so much time and thought put into it that you can feel amazing in! Spring/summer are slow down sewing seasons for me as I have 3 kids out on school break, but I use it to plan future makes and purchase any needed notions or patterns for those future makes so I'm ready to go when school is back in session! I did recently make a few Items for my daughter, and made matching dress shirts as wearable toiles for my sons, now that those are done I have plans on a matching set for all 3 of them out a beautiful hand stamped cotton- gotta get cutting!

A suggestion to the loose fitting waistband on the skirt. Make a band out of elastic 1.5" wide, and attach it to the waistband from inside the skirt. Being viscose it will fit you more comfortably.

I really enjoy your videos and sewing process. I have a similar process, and enjoy the ideation phase and pairing sketches with swatches in my sewing idea journal. I like your pattern and fabric choices too! One idea to help the neckline of the black knit top stay up- you can thread a very thin elastic through the neck binding and adjust it to be the same size of the neckline (not gathered). This will help with recovery and keeping it the size you intended it to be. It has helped me with the same issue on some similar tops I have sewn!

Ah yes, I’ve heard of that technique for hand-knitted necklines that gape too much and I think I even have some elastic thread on hand… I’ll have to try it, thank you for the tip!

The spring make that I'm most proud of is my Megan Nielsen Darling Ranges dress made from a floaty lyocell fabric. It has a floral print in different pastel shades on a navy background and it's such a good fit and so comfortable to wear. ☺️ However, I should've picked less slippery buttons as I have to keep checking that they haven't come undone. 😅 Thanks for another great video and 'sew' much sewing inspiration!

Hi Sarah, the sashiko course sounds so much fun, I’d love to do that! I’ve just started repairing a pair of favourite jeans with the sashiko technique - they’re about 20yrs old but I’ve loved them since I bought them new! They were destined for fabric recycling until I suddenly realised that using denim scraps to cover the worn holes and sewing them in place with sashiko stitching would (hopefully) look ok! 😊🤞 Really hoping it works out, but then again - nothing to lose! Would love to see what you do with your pieces - they’re so lovely! I’m still trying to master the basics!

You might try changing the length of the neckband depending on the stretchiness of the fabric. For example, if it's less stretchy, use 90% of the neck length; if it's more stretchy, 85%. Lifting Pins and Needles has a great technique tutorial on KZfaq related to this.

Wonderful makes! The Ehola Top with the Erin Skirt looks like the perfect combination. Maybe you can add a clear elastic strap to the Swimsuit? Otherwise i hope you can recycle the fabric for something else, because the color is very beautiful on you. Your Sashiko piece is also super beautiful, maybe you can put it into a frame and hang it on the wall. I'm currently working on a backpack and in between some staples to give the brain a break :D

Love all your makes and you sharing the thoughtfulness in the sewing process. Your dress is stunning! Isn’t it wonderful to have a vision become a success? The organza underling was a great idea and am keeping that idea in my “tip jar.” You have inspired me to search for a class on Sashiko as over the years have watched videos and read about the process and never even thought about a class. An in-person class would be so much fun.

Hi Sarah, all your garments look wonderful on you! You’ve been very productive. Do you have a straight stitch needle plate and foot? I had to buy one for my machine because it came with just the zigzag plate. The straight stitch plate really helps with the problem you spoke of about fabric getting pulled down the opening where the needle goes. It’s especially helpful for knits. Maybe you already have one with all the sewing you do. As for learning new crafts I’m a new knitter, less than a year in, and I’m knitting my first pair of socks. It’s going well and I’m really enjoying it . Thank you for sharing your makes with us 😊

Oh! My machine did come with a straight stitch plate, but I've never used it and I wasn't sure what it was for. Thank you! And for knitting, I haven't tried making socks yet, it looks like it could be either quick and satisfying or fiddly and irritating, but I'm tempted to try it soon! Happy knitting 😊

And your timing is impeccable : I had to bind-off the body of my carlie tee (which I discover in one of your previous videos, and finally decided to knit in a cotton, linen and viscose blend to suit the Marseille climate) and I so enjoyed doing it while listening to you! Thank you for your work and I look forward for your next video 🤗

Lovely pieces! Agree with some of the other commenters about adding a strap to the other side of the swimsuit. It might work to add to the neckline and put a strap on the other side in a different color to achieve the asymmetrical look. I plan to make version 2 of the Coppélia Cardi this weekend. First time I’m sewing clothes in a few years and it’s exciting to do it again 😊. Thank you for sharing!
