I am a current Springboard student (About 75% done with the Software Engineering course). My experience with them is positive and negative. Ill try to give the most TLDR version of my current experience. I do think it is worth the money for those looking for a new trade/career. Your mentor and access to the slack channel are great resources for you. You also have 1 on 1 with other mentors for more in-depth questions. The course does a great job of structuring out what to learn( HTML > JavaScript > Python > React etc) and they are the only bootcamp I found to cover Data Structures and Algorithms. You also get to do exercises to basically apply what you learn from the videos you watch. The support you get from the student advisors are also very helpful to understand how you are doing and what options you will have...ill explain this at the end. The down side, I went in with a part time track, these tracks are completely up to you as you are given weekly goals to track your progress. I found that even on a part time schedule(roughly 20 hours a week devoted) you will find that you put in a lot of hours and would only complete 50~60% of the weekly goal which makes part time learning unrealistic. I will also say that in some parts of the curriculum the exercises seem to be way more advance than what you just learned. Ill use a mechanic as an analogy...you just learned how to change the oil, now replace the transmission (hope you get what I mean here). You will also develop a lot of Imposter Syndrome as you are struggling with absorbing what you learned and complete your weekly goal(the points based on your progress). There are some times the slack seems to be very unactive especially on weekends so if you are stuck trying to plow through your points on the weekend, you will most likely have to figure it out or wait till Monday(when the weekly points reset). As the video mentioned, it is based on you and the bootcamp environment does not really support part-time or short time growth. I started about a year ago and had lost a job, lost a family members and had to struggle with some mental problems. Springboard did not see me as some customer, they understood my struggles and can provide extensions, t hey give you breaks and anything they can to help. The best part of Springboard to me is, once you are done with them, you still have access to the curriculum! You lose your mentor but if you find yourself trying to understand the hooks, syntax, or anything, you can go back and watch the video! I would encourage you to try to do the most affordable route, which would be to pay them straight up and avoid interest rates(i.e. 1 time payment of 10k vs monthly payment totaling 16k) and DO NOT go into this thinking you can get far with 20~30 hours a week. you will be "off track" so you will need to truly devote every time you have. This wasn't very TLDR...apologies.

My boyfriend went to springboard but he said the way the curriculum is set up, its easy to cheat and many of the students struggling with the work cheated with previous work and curriculum.

It looks like Springboard, where I did my cybersecurity bootcamp, reversed my job guarantee refund (which was weeks late BTW). I used it to pay off loans and CC debt, and the reversal likely cost me hundreds in overdraft fees and interest payments. I'll have a full review of the bootcamp on my channel soon. #dontusespringboard

how dumb can it be, doing a "review" of a bootcamp that you did not take? And that you did not take as a typical student? ps> the "job guarantee" is valid only for those student who pass a series of interviews and projects, so only for those that the bootcamp estimates will actually get a job. Brilliant "guarantee". It s like offering a 3-years repair guarantee that is valid only for those products who after 2 years and a half pass a stress test to assess that they are still in pristine condition.
