Very cute. We bought our ESS puppy on Boxing Day of last year and he was only 6 and a half weeks old when we picked him up. In hindsight he was waaaaay too young for us to take him but it’s worked out fine. He’s now an 8 month old healthy pup full of life. Adorable dogs

They are lovely. Live in the states and started looking for a Springer. Mine died a few months ago. He had his full tail- he was a pet. Seems like most of the Springers have docked tails in the US.

Hi, many thanks for the great comments, so very sorry for the loss of your Springer. We are only allowed to dock the tails if thay are to be working dogs. I hope that you can find a new friend soon.

Have their tails been docked? I thought this wasn’t done any more.

Hi Paul, tail docking is not illegal if the pups are to be working dogs. They were docked at 28hours old with no discomfort. We use our dogs for rough shooting in heavy cover so docking the tails is best practise.

@@workingspringerguernsey4961 I understand why you do it. I have a working cocker who often comes back with seeds on her ears, so I know the possible problems. I did think it wasn’t allowed any more. My dog has a magnificent tail, but she does not work, so it never really causes her a problem. The pups are adorable.

Why on earth would you give them shoes.6 months time you'll be correcting them for that.
@workingspringerguernsey4961 Жыл бұрын
Hi Christopher, that was the breeder that gave the pups a pair of his old slippers. The minute that they came home and showed an interest in our shoes I gave the command "OFF" , this had to be said a few times before it sunk in and now they show no interest in shoes. I have always done this over my many years of having dogs and it's always worked. Just be consistent with your timing and command.

Why cutting the tails off?? Its a very selfish thing to do to a innocent life..

These are working/shooting dogs, believe me if you ever saw the suffering a dog can go through having its tail caught up in discarded barbed wire or a hawthorn Bush you would understand. These springers are bred then trained to work in very heavy cover . The pups tails were docked at 36 hours old with no distress. I hope that this clears up your concerns.
