Owned a Browning hi power here in the UK in the 1990's prior to the handgun ban i believe it was one of the last fully manufactured in Belgium, later models were assembled in Portugal and were stamped as such .The Springfield variant looks like a great improvement well done Springfield !

My first time on this channel and A new Springfield Browning is highlighted. Your channel showing was awesome and in deciding factor to purchase one. I have a 1944 that came out of Brussels plant just days before the German exit. Plus 2 more new models that are great guns. This gun at this price with this quality is a no brainer. I will buy one.

Hey guy, I just stumbled onto your channel because KZfaq suggested it, since I have been watching whatever I can find about the new SA-35. I carried Hi Powers daily for a long time before the "plastic blasters" came along, and love them. I'm excited about this new gun. Now I just have to wait until more of them get into the pipeline. The ones out there now are going for insanely high prices. Let me say a word about your video. I've been in the gun game for 50 years now, and of course have seen a lot of videos. You are an excellent presenter, and clearly are a professional. Your 9 minute video showed me everything I needed to see, and didn't waste my time. I love that you actually sat down at the bench and shot the gun on a paper target so we could se the accuracy potential of the pistol. I get so tired of watching kids banging away at a big steel target and dumping a mag as fast as they can. This tells me nothing. You have the best and most concise video I've seen so far on the SA-35, much better than some of the "big name" KZfaqrs. So, a big thumbs up on your presentation. I have subscribed to your channel, and if you ship, when demand settles down for this gun, I'd probably buy from your shop.

Just picked mine up today from your store! Thanks for all your help. I came home and disassembled the magazine, put it back together, the slide was functioning normal now when racking on an empty mag locking to the rear. I think something was wrong with the magazine follower not pushing up against the slide stop lever, you did mention it probably had to do with the magazine. . Anyway, cant wait to shoot it next week. Thanks again!

Another 2 changes no one mentions: no firing pin block in the SA35 as in the Mark IIIs. Single piece cold hammer forged barrel vs the 2 piece braised barrels used in the Browninf HPs. I bought the SA35 after a 1 1/2 year wait. I have owned a Browninf High Power III for some 35 years. Back in 2014 I took it in to Terry Tussey for a trigger job and new sights. I then had it cerakoted at another shop. Thr SA35 has a lighter trigger but with noticeable creep. Livable but not crisp. So I swapped thr sear and hammer out of thr Browning into the SA35 so now the SA35 has an instant Terry Tussey trigger work. Super crisp. Absolutely zero creep. On or fire. No sense of any creep as as the sear slide across the hammer hook. Overall I love thr SA35. I've retired my BHP, and consider my SA35 my social work companion, along with my 5 1911s, HK VP9, and FN FNX .45.

Excellent review.. You stated the SA 35 would be "a little hard to come by" Short supply is not a surprise.. This is a welcome offering from Springfield! The surprise (and disappointment to me) is the way many dealers are taking advantage of the short supply by demanding 2 or 3 times MSRP pricing! It's a despicable practice! Free enterprise is one thing but 12 to 16 hundred dollars for an item with a $699 MSRP is criminal in my estimation! It's dubious at best that the manufacturer is exacting that much of a mark up to dealers and distributors.. I find this practice discusting!

What was the actual trigger pull weight on the SA-35? It was mentioned that it was lighter than 10 lb but not down to the sub 5.5 lb specification.

my recollection was that the lyman gauge was ready mid to high 6lbs range during the first shots. it did get better as the shot count was going north. i know the customer that has this pistol now and if i get permission, i would like to see what it is reading with 500rds or better. in conclusion i would like to say that the portable gauge that i am using is not the most scientific way to measure a trigger and have found it to be on the high side at times. ak

It irritates me that every KZfaqr that reviews this pistol gets so much wrong. First, any Hi-Power shooter (it's my EDC) has been using the Mec-Gar 15 round mags for at least 20 years. Springfield didn't invent that, they just supply them with the same Mec-Gar 15 round mags everyone buys - Mec-Gar also made the 13 rounders for FN. The old 13 rounders have a "tail" on the follower to prevent you from over-compressing the spring and weakening it. With modern metallurgy that's not an issue thus the 15 rounders without the "tail." The burr (no bite) hammer has been an option from FN almost from the beginning. Most BHPs went out with the long hammer, but many contracts also went out with the round burr. The extended safety and slide stop have been aftermarket drop-ins since at least the seventies. Not Springfield's idea. Removing the hated mag safety is the first thing every buyer with a brain has done for many years. In effect, and I applaud Springfield for doing so, Springfield built the pistol from the ground up with the best FN options (the bestest hammer for example) and the standard upgrades that every Hi-Power shooter did on their kitchen table or sent to companies like Cylinder & Slide to have done for them. I applaud them for doing so, but they didn't invent any of this. They just looked at the standard upgrades that everyone has done for many decades. If FN had done this they'd probably still be making them (and charging their outrageous prices). Good job Springfield, but I wish tubers would stop crediting Springfield for the upgrades that have been standard for many years.
@5280Armory
@5280Armory 2 жыл бұрын
we were clear in our video that we felt springfield was comparing the changes to the p35 itself and that many of the features mentioned could be found on later models of fn, browing, etc... we did not read into springfields ad that they were claiming that they invented ALL of these differences, merely stating that these were the features that they had chosen you incorporated into the sa-35. apparently our point of view is different than yours.
@kodiakkeith
@kodiakkeith 2 жыл бұрын
@@5280Armory Let's agree to disagree. I love all the upgrades at the price Springfield is offering them. Now, Springfield needs to copy the aluminum frame that FN offered to police agencies. I have one (upgraded much like the steel version SA has put out) and THAT is what they need to release next. The aluminum weighs about the same as a Glock 17 and is the perfect EDC, the world's best carry pistol (in my opinion).

@@jairopavon11 I would say that any product that was first released 86 years ago is an old design. Old, however, does not necessarily mean outdated. The HP holds it's own very well against newer designs. I would say that the P35 was the most modern firearm to go into battle during WWII.
