Test slices are defined for data layer or web layer tests but there isn’t a slice for service layer tests. There we need a way to exclude not only autoconfiguration but also configuration classes so as to not bring in messaging Controllers. For me, the definition of integration tests is where I use testcontainers, kudos to Spring for making that easy.
