Sprocket is an interwar and WW2 tank building game. Players: Built WW1 tanks and Cold War tanks to see what happens. Man I love this game.

@Kasper The Ram Knight The time between both world wars. It's generally referred to as the interwar period. Basically 1919 to 1938. Where major conflicts were non-existent besides the Russian Civil War, Soviet invasion Poland, Italian invasion of Ethiopia, Spanish Civil War, and the Sino Japanese War. But those were between two nations or were a Civil War so those are just placed in the interwar period.

2:54 I think what you're referring to is the bore evacuator. Those little thick parts in the barrels of mbts are designed to trap gasses with a pressure differential to prevent fumes from entering the tank upon the breach being reopened. Very important once guns started getting bigger and propellants started getting a bit more toxic.

They also reduce air resistance/ compression infront of the projectile as its fired which increases its velocity

Personal Request: if you ever do an early MBT again I'd suggest checking out some inspiration in the T-64 It's a favorite of mine and doesn't get much love, even though it was over all the best MBT of it's age (in the hard factors, the soft ones it was a bit middling, not too bad not too good until it was ironed out, but by then it was replaced as the main MBT) It's a quite beautiful beast

The later model Chieftains have composite armor on the front of the turret. But even the early models were very well protected vs traditional shells.

On the front you could mimic smoke canisters. Tanks would often have them where you have the bed rolls.

That's a pretty damn good idea. He could have turned the little hull machine guns around for a half sphere and used fuel tanks to mimic the smoke launcher cartridges itself.

You should do more tanks from minor powers in Ww2, such as Yugoslavia, Spain, Sweden, or you could revisit your Italian tank design with the new updates.

I have to say the Kpz-70 probably doesn’t have the most realistic armour values as I just kinda winged it. Same goes for the mobility but the gun is somewhat accurate except for the reload.

Glad to see you mention it. I forget the exact values, but the protection of those prototypes was pretty poor - I believe struggling against even full calibre soviet 100mm AP rounds (not that far of what he was using in the video). The emphasis was more along the lines of mobility and firepower

It really looks like a Chief! If you want, i can give you some advice on how to build MBTs in Sprocket! Composite armor is easier than you might think! I've recently made the T-64 from A to BV and posted them on the subreddit.

The stange barrel bulges on cold war cannon's are called bore evacuaters. Thier purpose is to expell residual muzzle gases that would otherwise harm the crew. Bore evacuaters likely became necessary due to longer cannons, more powerful charges behind the shell that likely produces more toxic muzzle gases as well. The more you know

The bulge on modern tank guns are fume extractors. I probably do a bad job explaining how it works but basically where the bulge on the barrel is located there are holes leading from the barrel into it. The shell passing by the extractor causes a pressure difference and when the shell leaves the gun it sucks the fumes out.

The barrels on cold war tanks with the bulges and little bumps and such can be a few different things. Usually the thicker section of barrel that is a foot or two long halfway down in the Bore evacuator, it sucks the smoke and unburnt propellant out so that when the breech is opened, you don't have toxic fumes shoot back into the tank. Other bumps and bits could be sighting systems, thermometers and leveling tools(When a gun barrel gets hot, the ballistics change radically, and on longer barrels you get Barrel droop, the muzzle curves down slightly so it isn't perfectly straight.) The Abrams barrel has all of these bits and trinkets hanging off of it that plug into the FCS (Fire Control System, basically your aiming computer)

In terms of more modern designs that would "fit" slightly better with the pre late war scenarios you could try some cold war light tanks like the walker bulldog, CCVL/Vickers MBT/stringray or even just some the post war sherman modifications so you have some pretty spicy guns but poor armour.

In wot the chieftain is shown as just pure metal on the front of the turret and gun mantlet. For future 60s tanks if it is possible to do spaced armor that'd be a good way to show 60s mbts

Hey PatchBits!!! Please build soviet "ТАНК ПРЕДЕЛЬНЫХ ПАРАМЕТРОВ", NEAR LIMIT PARAMETERS TANK, it is experiment Al Tank with 45* tilted front turret, front Engine and fuel tanks with all crew placed back as far as possible, it is also having heaviest front and side protection with slopped composite armor used.
