In this video, we'll paint up some 1/35 scale figures for my Black History Month project on the 761st Tank Battalion. The 761st, known as the "Black Panthers," were a segregated US Army Tank Battalion during WWII that served attached to Patton's 3rd Army from the Fall of 1944 through to the war's end in Germany in 1945.
The 761st was one of the most successful & highly-decorated armored units to serve during World War Two, earning a Medal of Honor & numerous Silver Stars (among other citations).
Today we'll practice painting black & brown skin tones on a couple of tanker figures. People of color often don't get the same kind of representation as white folks in the hobby of scale modeling, so it's important for us as scale modelers to hone our skills so we can honor & represent the brave men & women who've served our country from all different walks of life.
