@@KnowTrentTimoy I actually like that though. Yeah it's gross, but most shows romanticise the past and basically get 21st century characters put them in a dress and stuff them in a castle together. This show goes through the motions of showing actual techniques people used back then to make their clothes, make food and everything else. Him washing his hands would have made no sense and I love that this show shows that the past was unhygienic.

The best part about this scene is you can tell how relieved Brianna is. I think that's why she stared at Jaimie, even though he was relieving himself, just like "if this is the right person, then I'm safe and this is all okay but I can't lose sight of him and have to start all over". That desperation and stifled hope is so real there. The actor did such a great job communicating all of Brianna's layered emotion there.

You've got to think there was always a tiny touch of "This isn't real" in her mind. The whole thing, from beginning to end, was about Jamie. They did the research, her mother was gone, then she went through herself, but until she gets her hands on "James Fraser" there's got to be a bit of unreality.

The actress shows the relief of a daughter with a confusing childhood, a shocking adventures of her mother that ended up well, and of herself not so much (e.g. Bonnet)... And now the big strong Scot is in front of her in the flesh, being also his dedicated father who will see to make her safe and being the reason of all the issues of the Randall household... This scene should be a teachable example of motion picture history on how to display an emotional whirlpool in 3:30 minutes...

I love the progression on Brianna's reaction: to her, at first, Jamie is her father in name only, but when she sees his very emotional reaction - she is his baby girl, not just a child somewhere - she breaks down, realises that she is in fact loved by this man even though this is the first time he sees her. I could watch this scene again and again, beautifully made.

Also because when Leogheri discovered she is the daughter of the "witch" she tried to poison her with thoughts that Jamie didn't want/love her, so there was a sense of insecurity once she meets him. This was a great scene and I am glad it also included when Claire saw her (great acting), because her initial expression is who is sitting w/my husband and then she sees a familiarity in Bree (but it's natural when you see someone you recognize 'out of place' you don't make the immediate connection) then displays the shock. So many layered emotions from Claire as well.

You just got a VERY special treat! This is a high-quality TV show spanning several series - it's brilliant! ... you've got so much catching up to do. Basically - Brianna's mother was an English nurse in World War II ... on her honeymoon in Scotland, she found a stone circle and was magically transported back in time by 200 years. Soon, she meets Jamie Fraser, a Scottish clansman - and tends to his wounds using "modern" (from 1940s) methods. Including painfully jarring back into place a dislocated shoulder, and disinfecting wounds. He thinks she might be some kind of nice "witch" ... and their love blossoms. The antagonist is a direct relative of Claire's (the nurse) new husband - a terrible fiend of a man in the employ of the English army (boooo) who personally flogs Jamie with a whip until his strength runs out - Jamie's scars will never fade, as we see across all of the many steamy sex scenes throughout the various series.

In my opinion this is the very best scene of the whole show up to now. I always cry when I see Claire hugging here daughter and the impression on here face. She is more shocked than happy in the first moment because she can't believe what she sees. I always have to imagine how it would be to meet my mother after a long, long time unexpectedly. It would feel the same. God, their playing is sooo good. Especially Caitriona's!

Best show and season ever! Claire does not expect Brianna to follow her and wants to do the task alone, so it is so shocking to everybody in the family when Brianna returns to meet them. I also love the fact that Roger travels across time to be with his one true love and fights through everything to return to her, even after being kidnapped and tortured by the Native Americans.
