Let's take a look at Spud's Adventure, a Game Boy game brought to my attention by Game Boy collector Asobi.tech
It's very rare. And it's awful.

Atlus gets tons of inspiration just from looking at stuff. They thought up Spud from looking at a Potato. They thought up Mara by looking at...never mind... Anyway, this was a super fun and awesome video, Octav1us! I actually really enjoyed Kwirk, but yeah, I've never been able to shell out that kinda cash for the sequels. But I'm glad a video like this one exists to cover it nicely.

I skimmed the comments and didn't see an immediate answer but to your "why playing cards?" question. I'm not sure the real reason but a bit of trivia, Nintendo used to make playing cards before getting into video games!. Fun little bit of trivia. Hello from Florida! Nice vid. My favourite brand of vodka is also "Teh". Have you tried the raspberry twist flavour? It's beautiful. I used to have that "kwirk" game on a 64 in 1 gameboy cart my parents got me from hong-kong or wherever when I was a wee'en. Think it was called something else and had different sprites, but it definitely had that level at 01:27 near the beginning. Used to love that game so much, as well as another puzzle game on the cart, Pitman. The music haunts my dreams, but in the most delightful way.

I appreciate how the flowery Shakespearean speak shook you so much around 3:42 , but personally, I was quite thrown by Spud clearly having some sort of magical flying powers or rocket boots at that moment, lol. You'd figure those would've come in handy during those endless tower floors at some point, but nah, he'll keep them under wraps for the rest of _this adventure,_ thank ya very much. He's clearly not that bothered about this "rescuing the princess" nonsense anyway, judging by those credits. Freakin' potatoes.

Veggie Tales was an incredibly popular 3D animated bible "education" program where sentient vegetables recreated fanous popular scenes from the hit novel "The King James Bible", written in 1703 by William MakePeace Thackeray. I work agriculture and if there's one thing I learned, it's that potatoes couldn't possibly give less of a fuck. Cut in half and thrown in the dirt? Potato plant will grow. Poor soil conditions? Potatoes don't care. The leaves above ground are damaged? Potatoes don't care. Poor moisture? Potatoes don't care. Plant is buried more? Plant grows more potatoes than it would otherwise. Planted something else where the potatoes were? In 3 years you'll be weeding maize or lettuce or whatever and find living potato plants still growing in that row, with edible potatoes on them.
