My first was a 96 katana 600, & im actually still working on getting it running. I got it for an amazing deal because it was a complete no start as the owner is a pilot and hadnt had time to ride it since he bought it so its in great condition with low miles..

my first street bike was a 2014 gsxr 600. but I've rode dirt bikes most of my life, so I guess that's the difference

Nice video bro I’m 27 and I drive trucks and sport cars for a living but I always like bikes and I have a bmw car and I got the bmw 310 r to match it as my first bike it’s a really flashy looking bike and it sounds nice as well it’s pretty fast but I’ll eventually get another but I agree to start on a lower level bike and never worry too much about anything to big bc it does matter for sure

I started riding on a Harley-Davidson FLHT, touring style, motorcycle as an adult over 20 years ago. I learned on what I ultimately wanted to ride. Not a starter bike then upgrade later. My son is learning on a Kawasaki KLX230s dual sport because he is only 14 years old and restricted to a motorcycle 250cc or less.

I just got my first bike a 2001 honda vtx 750 or shadow it has a forgiving drum rear brake you can ride currently with no front brake and its super heavy so i learned my balance at low speeds quicker since the bike likes to turn the wheel or tilt at low speeds ive had it 5 days and can come almost to a complete stop without putting my feet down and take off without riding the clutch my first ride i learned my limits when i came in a corner to fast and almost straightened up and wrecked but i eased the brake and throttled out at the end im glad i got something thats forgiving and being scared is good i slow down at every intersection even if its green and constantly watch around me. Sorry for the rant i just love my bike i traded my truck for it lol.

I started on a Vulcan 900 a few months ago and I love it. The problem is that I'm already extremely confident with my riding abilities and Im THIRSTING for a 600. I never wanted a cruiser but I came across a fantastic deal on the vulcan and snatched it. Some advice Id give to new riders is just get what you want.

You oughtta mention the honda rebel 300, i literally just bought it yesterday and didnt even have my permit to drive until today. I took it out and practiced with a couple friends, within a day im already taking it down state routes and the only issue im having is stalling a lot (working on it), id say its a great beginner since it has power but its not too much power, plus it didnt break the bank!

My first bike was a cb650r. But I'm also older so I wasn't gunna try to do crazy stuff on it. Dual sport is actually a really cool choice. I'm definitely getting a dual sport next.

First REAL bike besides dirt bike, I was 17. Traded my 98 King cab Nissan 4x4, (which was like new AND 4 wheel drive, and that sparkly all blue) for a 99 Honda super hawk 990 v twin, yellow. I wobbled around on my first ride just trying to get er straight then launched it.... lol felt like that feeling when your on a roller coaster and it just drops. My heart was in my stomach an I couldn't stop grinning. 😊

My first bike was a yamaha bolt i recomend it its a pretty solid bike for beginner taught myself in 2 days but outgrew the 950cc in 2 weeks kinda want more powa lookin for a raider 1900cc

Well it all depends on your budget. I really wanted a gt500 continental from RE. However finding a used one of those was getting tiredsome until i realized that the t100s had the style power and around the same budget range. So i went with that. I was thinking about the sv650, r3 or hell even a cbr500. However finding good examples of those here in NY was just a nightmare.

Just started on a rebel 500 I think it’s great but of course I want a sport bike.

Love beginer bikes but people who take up riding tend to sell the 250's or 300's pretty quick. Especially if you are a person of any substantial size. If you are not a small person and money is tight and you consider yourself able to control your thoughts and actions and are a safe person i would skip any type of beginer bikes and go right for the 600. Jusy make yourself take your time and go slower for the first couple of months. Put limits on youself like speed limits for the first 3 months. Never ride without a performance jacket, helmet, and gloves ever! This will save you a bunch of cash. However, if you cant trust yourself get the beginer bike! Another idea is if you like riding in the woods get a street legal enduro that you think you will keep if you get you street bike. Of course rhis is a cash heavy option. But you do get two bikes in the end.

Recommend the Susuki katana 750 as well

I have my endorsements, taken the class and I’ve ridden enduro bikes a lot, that being said I believe I want an R7 for my first “sport bike” I have experience, but I still consider myself a beginner ish rider

I got a 2020 Street Triple S as my first bike (A2 restricted) and I couldn't be happier. A 250 would have been a bit boring for me as I'm getting used to this quite fast

My first street bike, was an 02 Yamaha R1 with a power commander¡ Shit was nasty... I got it in 07. But really I wouldn't recommend it for a first.... What I would recommend is a YZ490 2 stroke... Or a Honda 500 2 stroke!

I don’t know what to do I’m going to look at one tomorrow a r125 and it’s 2017 6k miles but me and my dad are going both can’t test ride it because we can’t ride yet. I have watched loads of videos what to do but should I check it and hope there’s no problems? It’s £2350 ish mot until late September. Recently had new breaks chain and sprocket. Starts on the button no issues at all. Any thoughts or tips will help!!

I ride a 2019 sv650x and I went with it specifically because it wasn’t gutless like a 250 or 400 and it’s really fun to ride. You can crank the throttle 100% and it’s not gonna send you directly to the shadow realm. Very fun bike to ride IMO and it’s only a few thousand more than a new 400 or even cheaper if you go used. I wanna look out for my homies getting onto riding so if you need a first bike I would go with an sv650. Very fun bike and very beginner friendly.

I would argue a dirt bike (low power, forces the rider to learn to use the clutch, stales when you shift incorrectly, used near exclusive on dirt trails and dry lake beds when starting out as avoiding car issues, many are built tall or close to the ground and the tall ones normally having lowering kits.)
