Mostly all positive - perfectly centered, nicely chamfered canvas micarta scales, great action with drop-shut close.
Where can I get one? I signed up for in-stock notifications from my favorite online retailers and was notified from Cutlery Shoppe.

@@TriedandTrueEDC it’ll arrive Tuesday, if the severe weather 🌦️ doesn’t hold it up. Noticed in your vid when you said the label of cpm cruwear is moved to left… i noticed on the recently re-released Manix2, PM2, Para3 and military the print is also to the left.

Are we going to be able to do scale swaps on this version? Just wasn't sure cuz I know with the PM2 and the military are full liners and I wasn't sure if the Micarta was thicker on this version. Thanks!

Great question! I’ll double check some other models I have but I’m fairly confident the liners are still the same size so thicker micarta scales shouldn’t affect use of aftermarket scales

I just looked at my other Manix 2’s and the liner thickness looks to be exactly the same thickness as the Crucarta version. Also, the micarta thickness matches the G10 thicknesses on my other models.

that jimping is also different on the thump ramp. looks more aggressive on the crucarta.

I’ll have to take a closer look, but it’s comparable to previous models when I looking at it alongside another Cruwear version just yesterday.

I got mine yesterday. Perfect fit and finish. First Manix 2, does the lock soften up? Man this thing is hard to close. Only thing i don't like 😞

🙌🏼 congrats on your first Manix 2! What a great one to start with. From my experience, it hasn’t softened up if you get one that has a strong spring. If you’re comfortable tinkering with it, I’ve read you could clip portions of the coil off to lighten the spring tension. I would first try and see if it lightens up with a few weeks of opening/closing.

Can't tell if mine lightened up or I just built muscle memory for the tension. It's been my primary at work(service technician) since it came in a week or so ago and the scales are getting a nice, rich patina.

Is there weight relief on the liners on these?

No, the liners aren’t skeletonized, but the weight doesn’t feel any heavier than the G10 models.

Yup yup, the liners are skeletonized! Almost identical to previous Manix 2, G10, models. Appreciate you calling this out! 👊🙏 EDIT: I was wrong! Sorry about not checking first, appreciate Gary chiming in below.

Yeah they're not. Doesn't feel too much heavier to me either, but they are solid pieces of steel (no cutouts). You can tell just by looking inside...no need to take it apart.

A stonewashed blade would look real good with the micarta scales I don't know why Spyderco didn't do that.

@@PerceptionVsReality333 Agreed. I put a lw manix Rex45 blade on my black g10 manix 2, and I think I’m gonna do micarta and maybe a MagnaCut blade, MagnaCarta 🤔🔥

That's not the spoon clip, that's the hourglass clip. The spoon clip is the one on the Gunting.

Got mine last week also. Not a fan of the scales. Wish i could get carbon fiber style grippy scales for it.

@@nlennon24They’re grippier than the Shamn Crucarta, but I’ve noticed how smoothed out the PM2 Crucarta gets over time so it’s possibly similar to this one.

@@TriedandTrueEDC that’s my biggest issue with the g10/s30v version. I much prefer the reduced weight from the liners being milled. Absolutely love my manix 2 LW but want a stronger one that’s not butt heavy

@@tgonzalez1983 oh, is the S30V full liners as well? I don’t have one of those, but the 4V/CF and Cruwear/G10 ones I have are skeletonized.

Lol no argument there, but to be honest, I’m not that surprised with Spydercos as I’ve rarely received knives (out of 40+) that have even grinds.

Mine is too, favors the clip side (RH carry). I haven’t tinkered with it, but there’s a chance it may improve after a good ol cleaning/re-lubing.
