SpyHunter is an enhanced remake and sequel of the 1983 arcade game for the PlayStation 2, Xbox, GameCube, Game Boy Advance, Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X. In the original Spy Hunter, a popular arcade game, the player drives a souped-up spy car with Bond fittings. While the original was viewed from high above, Midway revamped it with next generation graphics and a behind the car view.

I don’t understand how it’s 2020 and we have no remakes to Spy Hunter. The game is a legend. The original had one of the coolest arcade cabinets and theme song ever. This one was a lot of fun also. I imagine on todays consoles with our modern controllers it would be a hit if someone remade it. Open world please.

Because Warner Bros. have no reason to. They rebooted it in 2012 for the PS Vita and 3DS. I don't think I have to explain further about how that turned out. If Midway was still around, we'd have so many more games, including more SpyHunter.

@@dimitripetrylevi This game is secretly really hard. The first 10 minutes are east but then it gets really really really tough cause the controls are super touchy and the car is delayed when steering. Or when shooting targets so its almost randomized.

One my favorites. The car reflects the environment around it. Most developers skip or turn off environmental reflection for most video games because of the computational demand it requires, even in modern ones. But for a game with a feature produced this long ago, I'm impressed.

I would guess that it's just a very clever hack that mimics reflections like a lot of reflections were then. Less computational demand. It's still some nice attention to detail though. I was also surprised.

Game had one of the coolest car mechanics in the world. When it gets too damaged it goes full on batman and ejects a bike. Both the car and the bike can turn into a hovercraft and or fly and drive normally. Fucking dope and i want a remake lol.

The car to bike transition in this game HAD to have been at least part of the inspiration for the Batmobile/Batpod in the Dark Knight film series.

I don't get people hating on the graphics, graphics don't make a good game, gameplay does, and Spyhunter has great gameplay by the bucketload. I actually like the graphics. I'd rather this, than the sequel bait, microtransaction and dlc laden, unfinished, patched and overpriced nonsense out now. This is a great game, damn tough though! I absolutely love the "vehicle transition" moments, the motorcycle one particularly, that's GOT to have been the inspiration for the Batpod in The Dark Knight!

This was one of my first Xbox games that I have ever played. I knew that it would be a very fun game right away when I opened up that sucker on Christmas Morning of 2004.

some whispers of the soundtrack from this game popped into my mind, i couldn't work out what it was called for ages, asked my dad last night "what's that ps2 game i played with the cool spy car n the wicked soundtrack" straight away he said spy hunter. I'm glad i grew up on a ps2.

I played the PS2 version of Spy Hunter, way back. I wish, spy Hunter deserves a modern remake, with a arcade mode, a unused source material, and the 4-player multiplayer with online leaderboards. WB owns Midways Games. :)

Man I remember this game absolutely blew my fuckin mind as a kid. This was the first PS2 game I ever played. I think I was 11 or 12, and the jump in graphics from the PS1 to the PS2 was insane.

2:10 When I first played this game the day it came out, this blew my mind the way they did that transition... VERY cool. I had the 1983 game for the original NES, and when they brought this back to PS2, I was freakin ready. This remake was incredibly done, and is one of my favorite PS2 titles.

Holy shit I just remembered this game, idk if it was the same for everyone else but some parts were really hard but seeing the car transform was always super cool!! This game reminds me of hot pursuit on the PSP it’s funny how I played this game first and then Hot pursuit and never realized how similar they were
