I love those skyboxes. & the bum movement on Spyro when he gallops vs flies. The original was a joy to play.

For me the colour theory is the best aspect of spyro 1 (1998). All of my colour theory skills comes from playing the game a ton as a very young kid observing all the different colour combinations and what colours work well with each other. The colours of toasty's for example stick out so much in my mind of the burning sunset of orange, red, pinks, purples and the grass that felt so warm. In my mind it was the colour theory that reignited that toys for bob messed up the most. Toasty was no longer a warm and powerful orange sunset that gave the castle a imposing figure. Toasty lost the strong light and the lighting is not even in the same place as the original now coming from behind the tower losing the menacing atmosphere is once held. I also don't need to mention but the skyboxes are beautiful paintings which I wish the reignited incorporated a more painterly style to the skyboxes.

Great comment! Thanks for sharing your perspective on it. I totally agree, especially when it comes to the skyboxes. There was something just so magical about the worlds in Spyro 1998, and I'm sure color theory goes a long way in explaining that indescribable feel.

Wait, I didn't know you could force ur way up to the wizards in wizards peak via the super charge, the intended way is 2 glides of faith from the hidden path up to the roofs.

Also, I actually found that carrying the feature over that Sparks can sniff out gems made me more attached to him, even beyond being a helpful mechanic to keep. I'll once in a blue moon need his help and I'm always like "ok buddy did u see what I missed?" Probably a me thing though

Yeah I think him being able to sniff out gems in this game is totally fine. I didn’t want to use it because I was trying to get as close to an experience to the original game as I could, but I can absolutely see how it would benefit players and raise affinity for Sparx. He’s great

Don’t have any LEGAL way to play the OG spyro 1 It’s a game from 1998 meaning they won’t make any money from buying spyro 1 anymore so why care about legal ways
