ok, story time: so, there was a time in my life where i didn't think this was my fav idm song (at the time i thought it was analogue bubblebath by aphex twin). or my fav squarepusher song (at the time i thought it was do u know squarepusher). or even my fav song off ultravisitor (at the time i thought it was andrei). i already luvd this song, but 1 time i listened 2 ultravisitor in its entirety 4 the 1st time & it immediately became: - my fav song off ultrasvisitor - my fav squarepusher song - my fav idm song - my fav 2000s song &... - my 3rd fav song of all time. my 2nd fav song is sunday morning by velvet underground, 1st fav song is baba o'riley by the who. yeah just great job tom, great job.

@@CatfishD I wasnt aware, and given that fact its probably the more likely scenario. The reason i thought it was someone else who played the drums was because he often collaborates with drummers during live shows but i guess thats just because he cant play everything at once lol

@raitisvein4 жыл бұрын
Probably took him a while to get the recording exactly right.
This is just one guy, right? How the hell does he do this!? Is he actually playing that bass? To what extant are the drums programmed? I don't even know how to process this music.
@TheGamblermusic10 жыл бұрын
he is playing the bass. The rest is pre-corded, though replayed live with added effects, pattern shifting of all sorts. It is now not so difficult to obtain a "real" drum sound, although programming the patterns the way he does is extremely difficult and time consuming. Hope that helps.

@TheGamblermusic10 жыл бұрын
William Clark yes. Very savant. He's like an engineer, a ph D in music theory and a killer bass musician. Check his bio. There's Aphex Twin which is a bit like him, although even more technical but less of a musician.

This is probably in my top 3 best Sqaurepusher tracks of all time. I really wish he would revisit the Style of Go Plastic, and Big Loada. After Ultravisitor everything was just kinda ok... and mediocre. In my opinion... the only thing even close to this he's done recently is Z-Machines - Music for Robots... which is practically a direct callback to this style [although unfortunately the Z-Machines drum kit is is very flat... and not nearly as lush as this]. It's also unfortunate that Z-Machines is just a one-off experiment.
