It seems Shorbagy had a sudden drop of energy in the middle of the third game, mabe a lowering of sugar??, this can happened from time to time, buck luck, but all credit to Farag for get MES to this point, the fight for the world no 1 spot is on fire!!

This is always hard to take a view on from limited highlights..... Really need to see the whole game to take a view on whether it's a real injury or just "doing a Nadal" to throw opponents rhythm off.

Yeah, he was injured. Massive drop off in intensity halfway through the 3rd game and stopped chasing balls down.

Very equal players at the moment. Shorbagy just lost steam in 3rd after a very quick start. With injury time in a well looking player, it’s anyone’s guess whether it’s a true injury or a tactical timeout to get into Farag’s head. Gaultier had done it before against shorbagy (with added theatrics). That line up of who’s who during prize presentation at the back with ramy ashour, Matthews and Nicole, wow, that would have made Farag feel very humbled.

OK so El Shorbagy had some kind of calf problem but he still had to be put away and well done Farag. Just watched the whole match without knowing the score and you just couldn't see Farag coming back after being behind in the 3rd. Just as well because the women's final was a washout.

Obviously forgetting that this goes out to many non-native english speakers, who actually won't get the "joke". But for Brits that's humour, however unprofessional it may be!!!

I agree with Graham Wishart - what is ‘squaash’. In-jokes between commentators, or jokey asides, are OK up to a point but as they are both excellent and informative they should stick to what they do best. I’d rather not have to hit mute whilst watching !

Because Ali Farag doesn't have a clear view to the front wall. Elshorbagy was fatigued, so he couldn't get out of the way fast enough.

Nah ,the injury only kick in on the forth game , and it isn't anything serious . Besides ,lets give Farag some credits , he has been the best player in the whole week , beating almost all his opponents in straight games(dropping a game to willstrope tho) .
