If you ever decide to go for it, I have a piece of advice for you. In the beginning when your shot lacks the power, it seems pretty dull and boring and you may wanna give up. Don't ! Wait until you've developed enough power in your shot. Then it becomes as exciting as you watch :)

and a special shout out to PSA squash tv for the incrediblly good coverage. i also feel the lighting and color combination used in this match made it easier to follow than a number of other tournaments, atleast for video audience. should be used more often.

Like many, I have also come back to watch this year after year. I have to point out that commentators kept on getting it wrong several times & their under-estimation of Shabana's stamina seemed never ending. Even in long rallies I think it was Amr who was controlling the pace & make Gaultier work hard. An incredible left handed player, already missed.

What an incredible power match. Takes an incredible amount of mental and physical effort to play at the almost the same pace throughout the 5 games. There will never be an Amr Shabana nor a Greg Gaultier ever again.

I took my 12 yr old son to watch this at Queens club, London. I`ve seen a lot of live squash over the years and this was up there with the best, great atmosphere, very professional set up and decent organisation. Managed to get Mo baggy`s autograph for my lad , and of course the pink court was a success. Very theatrical. Shame its not been there since .

Brilliant match thanks for posting. Shabana is a very accurate player, always been but I don't like it when he looses his temper and starts cursing after loosing a rally.

This is such a close game. IMO, it ultimately came down to Gaultier's mental game. All those points he loses after arguing with the ref made such a big difference, especially in the mid-section of game 5. It's at that point that Gaultier seems to unravel.

Some game. Golden generation of players when ya had these Matthews, ashour, shorbagy and a few others I'm not thinking of. Currently, I think current crop of players are not as good.
