SquashSkills was launched in 2012 by Former World number 1 Peter Nicol and co-founder Jethro Binns. Our goal is to give everyone access to high level squash coaching in an effort to help them become the best player they can be.
When we launched we were very player focused, but as time went on we felt that we also had the opportunity to build a platform that could help coaches expand their knowledge and bring variety to their training.
Coaches can now create and schedule their players training sessions, set drills and tests, and track progress and improvement.
The new website is packed full of tools for both coaches and players, guaranteed to improve your understanding of the game.
Start winning more!

When Thierry was on the circuit he was probably the most fluid mover and that was definitely why he had such a world class basic game and shot accuracy and that got him to be the best player on the planet for a year or two.

@@theboxfitchannel4305 I was just being a bit naughty because some great players were #1 during Thierry's career. But yes, he did hit the top spot when the competition was really tough.

I once was watching Thiery at his best in a brutal match against Power. I cannot describe the beauty and poetry of his motion. If he'd been female I would have gotten on my knee and proposed! My favourite player of all time! It was a pleasure watching his rise to the top.

So when you split step to move forward (not demonstrated) you move one foot back and the other one forward while leaning forward, and push off the back foot. Ja?

SquashSkills thanks for the link. The back foot drag is not taught widely so it's good too see you do that in your video. I might add that dragging the back foot also assists in braking your movement and slowing the momentum created by moving to the ball. This makes it easier to use your leading leg to reverse the direction back to the middle of the court. You allude to this braking action when you show the wear on your shoes in your video 😀

Guys he does not mention the most important part!! You have LAND AT THE MOMENT THE OPPONENT HITS THE BALL. Look at TENNIS videos on the split step - all way more professional.

If you land the moment the opponenet hits the ball, how do you know which way to split? Wouldn't this require guessing and risk gettinng taxi'd?
