In this video, ‪@SwitchandClickOfficial‬ has tasked me to Build a keyboard off aliexpress ONLY. I thought it was too easy and built the CHEAPEST keyboard from aliexpress. let's just say it didn't turn out so well.

As someone who grinds aliexpress daily, I saw that you confirmed your plate was received when you actually did not get it. That doesn't mean that you got scammed, it means that it is still continuing to ship until it arrives, you just can't see tracking info anymore. I accidentally pressed "confirm recieved" on one of my packages but it still came

yes, usually it means aliexpress has done its part for delivering to your country, and it's up to your local ppostal service to contact you for updates.

I did an AliExpress build recently and it didn't go terribly. I used a Redragon K617, Tape modded it and added some case foam. Some Akko cs lavender switches and Coral Sea pbt keycaps. The stabilizers are suprisingly ok stock so I didn't feel the need to mod or replace them. Whole build came down to under 100 NZD.

If you only solder one leg, you can straighten the switch by reflowing the solder while pressing on it from the other side with your finger. Then you can go back and solder all the unsoldered legs.

That PCB looks like it supports hotswap sockets, so they're not wrong. They just don't include the individual sockets that you also need to solder on there to make it an actual hotswap board. Another big giveaway of that is the misaligned switches. The holes for the pins are much larger than usual because they need to accomodate the hotswap socket. If the holes were made to spec of the pin you wouldn't be able to turn them that much (only a little bit).

You see... The pcb was a 3 star rated product with 6 buys... I'd say anything under 4.5 star at that many buys is a scam. As a fellow Ali Express user. I've honed my skills into logical and depp diving into products before buying LOL

I love how everything he get's is like 5 cents cheaper from being good. But he chooses transparent and blue switches. But then chooses keycaps that are way more expensive. Edit: I don't love that he chooses the 5 cents cheaper items. It annoys me, He could've had a decent board.

Please consider doing a followup of this video where you dissasemble this keyboard, buy a plate to complete it as it was intended, and mod it as much as you can to make it sound and feel as good as humanly possible. (If you still have it, that is.) If you want to make it more interesting, you can make it a competition with Hipyo Tech where he takes his keyboard that he assembled from parts purchased from AliExpress too on one of his videos and see who can make their keyboard sound the best by modding it but not replacing any of the already purchased parts. (Except you getting the plate that did not originally arrive.)

I did a great feeling and sounding Keyboard for the Price I got the Dukharo Vn66 and I also got the Gateron Pro Milky Yellow coding and lubing the stabilizers add Foam and PBT keycaps Trust me you get a great result.

you 'technically' could go more budget depending on what sacrifices you'd be willing to make. Like a plateless build (with 5 pin switches) some cheapo plastic case and some sub $20 keycaps and something like jwick blacks. Should be about $50-60 excluding shipping

@@TheJackalopee Using Navys would defeat the purpose, Box Clickys actually sound good. I have them on 2 boards, Jades and Pinks and I have tried Navys.
