I like the LaPlant -Choate box scraper made in Cedar Rapids Iowa my home town . I had 2 cousins that worked for Allis Chalmers back when they were still in CR Iowa

You can do a tease video, place the pony blocks on the bench and say guess what’s coming or some thing to that effect!

Nice walk around! I'm suspecting the foot plate on that Cat 60 may not be original. It looked like the hole for the track clutches was fairly crudely torched, and I can't believe Cat would have done that for production units. Also I noticed what I think was a Cat radiator tank on the Holt. :-)

Love those old 60s... they set the stage for growing out of the depression... both in agriculture and in infrastructure building.. the 60 set the stage for the yellow D series that built the nation. Really nice to see it next to the earlier generation Holt.

I love these 60 cats. I get to operate one at WMSTR Labor day weekend and this year I was able to bar start it for every parade I was in, not bad for running it for 30+ shows and only being able to bar start it 3 times

I was there Friday, looked for you but there was a lot of people on the grounds! I snapped a couple pics of #183 in the line up, you better not open her up too much that she sucks in that John Deere and choke because you know I'll be the first one there to laugh at you!! ;-)

Wonder when the manufacturers started to think about some weather protection for the operator? Wow, the old machines didn't even offer a sun shade, let alone some kind of roll bar. Old timers had to be tough hombres to run these machines in the winter or mid-summer.

Hey Squatch, have you seen Aumann Auction videos of the Irvin Baker collection in California? Looks like a lot of crawlers and other vintage machinery going up for auction. You can add to your collection! 🇺🇸🚜👍

What is the rhyme or reason in the model numbers from cat in the earlier years? was it weight, or horsepower, etc? how long did that hold true?
