oday's video shows how to paint the squeegee painting "Abstract 201" with acrylic paints and a smoothing trowel. On my work table in the studio is an 80 x 80 cm canvas, which I first paint with four acrylic colours for the background. I use royal blue, Prussian blue phthalo, azo yellow dark and azo orange. The ground is created when I apply the acrylic colours to the canvas with the broad flat brush. Then I start with a first layer of colour in permanent red-violet. Gradually, layers of colour in yellow-green, light pink, titanium white and pearl blue are added, until in the end an abstract picture emerges, reminiscent of water lilies in a pond.
I bought all the acrylic paints, tools and canvas myself. The best results can be achieved with pasty acrylic paints when squeegeeing. Have you already painted an abstract acrylic painting using the squeegee technique?
