Squid Game's production budget was about $20M...a fraction of most other Netflix shows and Hollywood movies. But for Korea, $20M is a big budget and you can bet that Netflix will pour more money into Korean content in the future and you will see more edgy content from Korea. Win, win, win....a win for the global audience, a win for Korean actors & directors (...their contract value will skyrocket), and a win for Netflix.

@@captainhooknose6330 They wanted to show the roles of the VIPs to the crowd, so we have an idea of what kind of cruel people they are, joking in these kinds of moments and getting entertainment by them and making sex jokes. The only thing the VIPs valued was pleasure and that's an even more terrible thing. It's mostly how everyone sees the VIPs, someone else may view them as additional characters who aren't really neccessary to the script, and for some others they may realize something important out of it, like the fact people are being tormented for the sake of the VIP's entertainment. This scene certainly adds another level to cruelty.

I think what makes the marble competition sad is the fact that many chose their friends or the person they trusted the most, since they had to make teams of two, They thought they were going to have to compete against other teams, not each other, in adittion to the fact that before playing, some of them stopped to talk, talk about personal things and dreams, They had an opportunity to get to know better the person they were going to kill, or who was going to kill them, in this competition you can see the most human side of all the participants and that gives it a special touch, Personally, it made me too sad when the friend of the North Korean defector sacrificed herself so that she can continue

We live in an amazing time. There is so much incredible talent out there. And thanks to the internet and Streaming services we can get to enjoy all these stories and witness all the incredible talent that's out there in spite of the separation created by physical distance, and cultural and language barriers. Every actor in the Squid Game really produced a great performance. And the story, itself works on so many different levels. Congratulations to all involved in its creation and production. And now that im thinking of it. The one holding the lifeline on the hardend glass would litterly screw over everyone. Because they said that it could only hold two. Now holding some one up who is falling would probably break the hardend glass which screws up everyone.

Not many shows nowadays leave you thinking about it after you finish it, and that’s what I’ve loved about this show. The thought provoking and time spent thinking how could they get through this or what could’ve been done different. Brilliant show, deserves all the praise it’s receiving. 💫
